atmos x Salomon XT-EVO: a silver sneaker expected at atmoscon 2026. Date de sortie: * 31/10/2026 * Published September 23, 2026 Japanese retailer atmos and Salomon may soon unveil a new collaboration centered around the XT-EVO. According to reports, this sneaker features a metallic silver and black color scheme, staying true to the silhouette's technical aesthetic. Its presentation is expected on October 31, 2026, at atmoscon in Tokyo. An XT-EVO with a technical design. In this version, silver dominates the upper and contrasts with black areas. Rather than using multiple colors, the design plays with textures and reliefs: grid patterns appear on certain sections, while molded synthetic elements add depth to the overall look. The result is more reminiscent of a futuristic athletic shoe than a retro sneaker. The metallic details extend to the shoe itself, with co-branded atmos and Salomon insoles in a reflective, almost liquid finish. The robust outsole completes the look and evokes the trail running influences associated with the Salomon brand. These elements allow the shoe to maintain a strong visual presence while retaining the brand's functional characteristics. The XT-EVO, a new evolution of the XT line. The XT-EVO is a new silhouette from Salomon, presented as an evolution of the XT family. The brand describes a model with angular lines, an aggressive silhouette, and distinct visual layers. It also highlights its heritage in running shoes and elements of its technical platform, including the Agile Chassis system. The collaboration with atmos brings a more fashion-forward interpretation to this sporty base. The choice of black and silver is part of a recurring trend for the Japanese retailer, which has already offered sneakers with metallic finishes. Here, however, the approach takes a more futuristic direction, in keeping with the sculpted volumes of the XT-EVO. Release announced for atmoscon 2026. According to available information, the atmos x Salomon XT-EVO is expected to debut on October 31, 2026, at atmoscon. The event is scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 2026, at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Tokyo. At this stage, the price, purchasing options, and potential international release have not been confirmed. The shoe could therefore be unveiled at the trade show without any further announcements regarding its availability. Fans of Salomon sneakers and atmos collaborations will have to wait for official details to find out when it will be available. Stay tuned! Article written by: Vava. Partner offers.
MEC launches free trail running program across Canada. 2026-09-16 00:25 By Retrade Editorial Team The short version * MEC is running Train for the Trails, a free four-week trail running program at stores across Canada through September, in partnership with Salomon. * Each week: a 20-minute clinic in store, then a guided 5 to 8 km trail run with a local running club, refreshments afterwards, and entry into a $1,000 MEC gift card draw. * Spaces are limited and have to be booked ahead. Store nights differ, so check your own store's listing. * Week two is about shoes and vest fitting - the point where trail running stops being free and starts costing money. MEC has put its national store network behind trail running for the month. Train for the Trails is a free, four-week program of in-store clinics and guided group runs, held with Salomon at participating MEC stores across the country. MEC's own participant waiver dates the national program September 8 to 29, 2026, though stores set their own weekly night - Calgary runs a day or two later each week than Vancouver does. What Train for the Trails actually is. Four weekly sessions, free, at a participating MEC store. Each opens with a 20-minute educational clinic, then moves outside for a guided 5 to 8 km trail run alongside a local running club, and finishes with refreshments and a draw for a $1,000 MEC gift card. Spaces are capped and booked in advance. The four clinics are built to stack. Week one is base-building - how to structure easy running before you add hills and technical ground. Week two covers gear: choosing trail shoes, and fitting a hydration vest or belt so it does not bounce. Week three is nutrition and hydration. Week four is race-day preparation, for anyone eyeing an event. MEC built the curriculum with two coaches: Jeremy Rolle, a B.C. trail running coach, ultra-runner and race director, and Carol-Ann Rolle, a registered sports dietitian, Team Canada runner and Salomon ambassador. The runs themselves are led with local clubs rather than by store staff alone - Striderz Run Club in Vancouver; Calgary Roadrunners, Dorothy Running Club and Run Calgary in Calgary. Why a retailer is spending four weeks on trail running. Because the category is growing at both ends. The Outdoor Industry Association's 2026 Running Report calls trail running one of the fastest-growing and most diverse segments in the outdoors, putting participation up 6.6% to 17.2 million in 2025 - a rise of 57% since 2019. A separate survey series says much the same. That second series, from the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, counts 16.1 million participants in 2024, up 8.8% on 14.8 million the year before. But the interesting number is elsewhere: OIA records core trail runners - the committed end - increasing 7.8%, growing on both fronts, unlike road running, where the gain sits mostly with casual participants. A category that adds serious participants adds gear cycles. One caveat worth stating plainly: these are United States figures. Neither body publishes an equivalent Canadian participation series, so the Canadian trend here is inferred from the same continental market, not measured. The gear question the clinics will raise. Week two is where trail running stops being free. A trail shoe, a vest and poles is a real outlay - and it is exactly the point where a used-gear marketplace has something honest to say, because the three items are not equally safe to buy secondhand. Shoes are the careful one. Trail shoes have a service life measured in distance, not appearance: compilations of lifespan research put trail and hiking shoes at roughly 480 to 800 km, coaching guidance puts the replacement window at 300 to 500 miles, and studies cited across those sources find midsoles losing around 50% of their compression capability across that range. The problem for a buyer is that none of it shows in a photograph. Lugs and uppers wear on a different schedule from the foam underneath, so tread that still looks sharp is not evidence the cushioning is intact. If you buy used trail running shoes, ask the seller how many kilometres are on them and treat the answer as the spec that matters. Everything else is easier. Running vests and packs and trekking poles have no compressive foam doing structural work, so what you see is close to what you get - check the buckles, zips, bladder and pole locks, and worry about fit rather than age. MEC is already in the used-gear business. Which is not a coincidence. In June 2026 MEC opened Canada's first permanent Gear Swap store in Kelowna, B.C. - a 2,200 square-foot space next to the main store where you can trade used gear in for credit, buy secondhand, and get gear repaired. It is a pilot, not a rollout. There is history behind it. MEC ran an online Gear Swap marketplace from 1997, one of the country's earliest peer-to-peer outdoor gear communities, until it was retired in 2022. In-person swap events have continued twice a year since. Peter Hlynsky, MEC's chief executive officer, framed the Kelowna store this way: "Canadians are looking for smarter, more practical ways to get outside without always buying new gear." That is the same current running through Lululemon opening its own resale shop in Canada and through B.C. putting public money behind gear repair. A free clinic that teaches you how to choose a shoe is also, quietly, teaching you how to judge a used one. Common questions. Do I need trail running experience to join? No. The program is built to bring new runners in as well as develop people already doing it, which is why week one starts at base-building rather than pace work. Does it cost anything? No. The sessions are free, but spaces are limited and have to be booked in advance through your store's listing. What do I actually need to bring? Shoes with grip and something to carry water in will get you through a 5 to 8 km guided run. Week two is where you learn what to buy properly - a good argument for not buying anything before it. Is it running in every city? It is a national program at participating stores, with schedules set locally. Check your own store's listing; the nights are not all the same. If you have been meaning to try trail running, the program runs until September 29, and it is an unusually low-friction way to start: the runs are guided, the clinics are free, and the one purchase that really matters gets explained before you make it. Launching Salomon's XT-6 in the Dolomites. To celebrate the launch of Salomon's latest XT-6 collection, JD Sports packed its bags with an extra-special guest list to spend a few days out of the city, connecting with nature. Channelling Salomon's instinct for exploration, JD Sports took its squad to the village of Madonna di Campiglio to explore the mountains from the ground up. Unreal views. Next-level fits. Here's what JD Sports got up to. Day 1: ready to recharge. On Wednesday, the group touched down in Verona before heading to its boutique hotel, Casa Cook Madonna. A stripped-back bohemian retreat with a Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic in the mountains, this place is nestled in the small alpine town of Madonna di Campiglio. Surrounded by five iconic alpine lakes and a UNESCO world heritage landscape, this was complete luxury to relax and reset. The group arrived at the hotel with a display of Salomon's new XT-6 collection to get a closer look at the silhouette. After some time to get settled, some of JD Sports stepped out to explore the local town, while some of the group made the most of Casa Cook's wellness spa. Just when JD Sports thought day one couldn't get any better, JD Sports regrouped for an intimate dinner at Altitude 1.511 with a curated six-course menu by a Michelin-trained chef. JD Sports also hooked the team up with new XT-6 pairs, ready to customise with ropes, charms and beads to bring a fashion-focused edge to Salomon's outdoor energy. Day 2: from the ground up. Breakfast was needed on the second day of its Dolomites trip. JD Sports had big plans. JD Sports invited the group to explore higher ground, following new routes and unlocking new perspectives. And the XT-6 had JD Sports covered on foot. Adapted for daily steps and soft hikes, the silhouette is the ultimate everyday shoe. Making every outfit instantly cooler, the XT-6 pairs light and airy materials with EVA cushioning and trail-inspired details. A go-to every time. The hike from Pradalago to Malghette Lake delivered stunning scenery - it was the perfect backdrop for pics in its new Salomons. Lunch in this alpine spot was the perfect escape from city life. After hiking back to the hotel and taking time to rejuvenate, the guys got ready for the last night. It was back up the mountains (drivers at the ready this time) for dinner at Chalet Spinale. Up in the clouds, high above the Brenta Dolomites. Unreal. The final descent. Before heading back to real life, JD Sports enjoyed a slow morning at the hotel to take in the last couple of days. This was truly a trip to remember. Ready for your own adventure? Make sure it's in Salomon. Shop the latest XT-6 colourways right here.

SALOMON and IRONMAN announce long-term PARTNERSHIP, taking ENDURANCE WHERE it GOES NEXT. September 11, 2026 16:21 ET | Source: Salomon Nice, FRANCE, Sept. 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - From 2027, Salomon becomes IRONMAN Global Premier Partner through 2031 across Performance footwear, apparel and technical bags. In a landmark move, Salomon will also become Title Partner of the 2027 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawai'i, for the duration of the partnership Salomon, the modern mountain sports lifestyle brand, and IRONMAN, the global leader in triathlon, today announce a new five-year partnership bringing together two iconic brands with a shared vision for the future of endurance. Beginning in 2027, the partnership will span events globally, combining Salomon's expertise in performance running innovation with IRONMAN's global community. As part of the agreement, Salomon will become Title Partner of the 2027 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawai'i marking a major milestone in the brand's growing presence across endurance sports. This partnership also reflects a broader shift in the way athletes experience endurance today. Increasingly, they move between sports, disciplines and terrains, carrying the same mindset from one challenge to the next. What connects these experiences is no longer a single sport, but a shared pursuit of progression, performance and personal challenge making endurance as much a way of life as a sporting discipline. ENDURANCE HAS NEVER BEEN DEFINED BY TERRAIN For Salomon, endurance has never been defined by terrain. Born in the French Alps 80 years ago, Salomon began where it is hardest and has never stopped pushing its limits. Faster. Longer. Elsewhere. From Nordic skiing and adventure racing to trail, road and GRAVEL running, Salomon has built its expertise across sports and seasons, helping athletes perform over long distances and in the most demanding conditions. Triathlon is a natural extension of that expertise. "Athletes no longer define themselves by one sport. They run on the road, compete in the mountains, take on triathlons and continually seek new ways to challenge themselves. Endurance has become a lifestyle. For Salomon, joining forces with IRONMAN is a natural step and an opportunity to bring our performance expertise to one of the world's most committed endurance communities." Guillaume Meyzenq, President, Salomon SHAPING THE FUTURE OF ENDURANCE SPORT, TOGETHER From 2027, Salomon becomes IRONMAN Global Premier Partner through 2031, with exclusive rights across performance footwear, apparel and technical bags within the IRONMAN ecosystem. The collaboration will be elevated with the title and presenting partnership of a number of iconic IRONMAN events across the United States and Europe. At each IRONMAN-owned event included in the partnership, Salomon will own the IRONMAN Running Course connecting the brand's growing expertise in road running with the defining final discipline of long-distance triathlon. At its core, the partnership reflects a shared belief in sport's ability to nurture human potential. Salomon and IRONMAN share an athlete-first philosophy, a commitment to innovation in the service of performance and a close relationship with the communities they serve. Together, the two brands aim to create a premium experience that helps athletes redefine what they thought was possible. "IRONMAN and Salomon are united in the belief that endurance sports unlock human potential. This partnership is rooted in a commitment to serve athletes and help them pursue ambitious goals. Salomon's heritage, performance expertise, product innovation, and community-driven philosophy make the brand a natural partner for IRONMAN. We look forward to working together to enhance the athlete experience across our community." Scott DeRue, Chief Executive Officer, The IRONMAN Group WHERE ENDURANCE GOES NEXT At the heart of the partnership is a shared ambition: to enhance the athlete experience from preparation and training to product innovation and race day. The partnership will come to life through three areas that define Salomon's approach: athletes, product and human performance expertise. Athletes will be at the heart of this next chapter alongside Marjolaine Pierré, Julie Iemmolo and Casper Stornes, three athletes who already compete at the highest level of long-distance triathlon. Their experience will bring first-hand insight into the specific demands of training, racing and running after hours of effort, helping inform Salomon's approach to the sport. Product innovation will turn those insights into performance. Across selected IRONMAN events and communities, athletes will also have opportunities to discover, test and experience Salomon products. Beyond product, Salomon will bring its broader human performance expertise to the partnership. Through its athlete-first approach, its Service to Athlete platform and its Performance Program led by sport scientist Aitor Viribay, the brand works across biomechanics, training, nutrition, recovery and athlete feedback to better understand what enables athletes to perform for longer. IRONMAN will provide a unique environment to deepen that knowledge and translate it into meaningful innovation for elite athletes and the wider community. Together, these three pillars, athletes, product and human performance expertise, will extend the partnership beyond race day, helping shape what performance can become next. WHERE ENDURANCE BECOMES LEGEND And nowhere is that ambition more symbolic than at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawai'i. Salomon's road to Kona starts this year. During the 2026 IRONMAN World Championship, Salomon will bring its first activation to Kona with an immersive pop-up at Kona Heaven from October 7-8. Athletes, fans and the wider community will be invited to discover Salomon's approach to performance and innovation, meet product experts and connect with endurance athletes Courtney Dauwalter and Jessie Diggins. In 2027, that presence will take on a new dimension as Salomon will become Title Partner of the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawai'i one of the most iconic stages in endurance sport and the ultimate expression of the commitment, preparation and resilience that define the IRONMAN community. "To become Title Partner of the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii is both an honor and a responsibility. We are entering this partnership with humility, ambition and a long-term commitment. We want to contribute to its future while respecting everything that has made Kona iconic and create lasting value for the athletes and communities who make endurance sport what it is.
