Role Clarification
This is a hands-on, coding-focused Platform Engineering role centered on designing, building, and operating CI/CD, distributed systems, and storage infrastructure at scale.
It is not a DevOps-only, support-only, or operations-only role. Engineers on this team own systems end-to-end — architecture, development, automation, and reliability.

eBay operates a global online marketplace where buyers and sellers can trade a wide range of items, from electronics to fashion to collectibles. Sellers list items with details, buyers browse, bid in auctions or buy via Buy It Now, and the platform processes payments and facilitates shipping, earning revenue from listing fees, final-value fees, advertising, and subscriptions. eBay differentiates itself with a combination of auction-style and fixed-price listings, a large international reach, and buyer/seller protections along with seller tools and promotional options. The goal is to enable easy, varied, and secure commerce across many product categories for people and businesses worldwide.
