Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience is required.
  • Maintain established relationships with area media partners and understand television, print, radio, over-the-top, out-of-home, digital, and social media landscapes.
  • Think strategically through media recommendations, audience targeting, execution, and analysis.
  • Understand television and radio rating estimates and digital performance metrics and key performance indicator measurements.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Asana is a plus.
  • Use reporting and analytics tools; familiarity with Google Analytics 4 and Datorama is a plus.
  • Have experience with media planning and buying software; Strata experience is preferred.
  • Deliver polished presentations to client teams and C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, critical thinking, time management, and prioritization.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form with all organizational levels.
  • Be able to remain stationary for long periods, operate computer keyboards, and read computer screens.
  • Be able to travel occasionally for client and agency meetings.
Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison between media vendors, the client, and the agency.
  • Meet with traditional and digital media representatives to request and analyze proposals and packages.
  • Monitor new and emerging media changes and provide ideas to grow client business.
  • Gather, organize, and present competitive industry research and prepare market analysis.
  • Collaborate with the team to build strategic multi-platform media plans covering traditional, digital, and social media to meet client goals and objectives.
  • Lead internal and external client meetings, including presentations, reporting, and strategy sessions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients as a media partner.
  • Avail media and negotiate rates, cost per mille, cost per point, special time parameters, value-added sponsorships and promotions, bonus impressions, and e-newsletters.
  • Build radio and television schedules, compile digital media into planning documents, develop audiences on social media platforms, and execute media plans.
  • Create insertion orders and book media.
  • Manage media execution projects, including asset tracking and trafficking, process control and adherence, and quality-control monitoring.
  • Process changes on media buys and confirmation paperwork.
  • Analyze post-buys and work with stations to address under-delivered weight or impressions.
  • Develop monthly performance reports with team members and make ongoing performance optimization, strategy improvement, and best-practice recommendations.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Train media coordinators and interns at the agency.
