Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or relevant work experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, application performance monitoring tools, source code management, infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering, including at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to lead in a highly matrixed, heavily outsourced organization through influence and partnership.
  • Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising collective technical competencies.
  • Ability to manage change and operate effectively in complex environments.
  • Broad engineering awareness with strong expertise in multiple technical areas, including Microsoft Azure; Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or ARM; pipeline technologies such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions; code repository management using Git; monitoring and instrumentation tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and New Relic; containers and serverless technologies such as AKS and Azure Functions; scripting and automation using Python or PowerShell; and DevSecOps tools such as SonarQube, JFrog, or SwaggerHub.
  • Ability to use approved AI tools appropriately, review and validate AI-generated content, and comply with policies concerning confidentiality, data privacy, security, compliance, retention, and intellectual property.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of CI/CD, SRE, and observability capabilities.
  • Drive infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code, including Bicep and ARM.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in pipeline configuration, code repository management, and related controls.
  • Help lead incident resolution and business issue remediation.
  • Lead the identification and management of capacity, performance, and risk.
  • Adhere to and promote Change Management and Problem Management policies under ITIL.
  • Lead the adoption of SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Leverage Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and application performance monitoring tools such as New Relic for observability.
  • Promote automation and AI-assisted operations to reduce manual effort and improve outcomes.
  • Drive innovation and remain current on Azure and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Define and promote Azure architecture standards for networking, identity, and security.
  • Lead the adoption of cloud-native patterns, including AKS, serverless, and PaaS services.
  • Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to integrate CI/CD and observability practices.
  • Represent cloud and platform engineering in project initiatives, architecture design, and operational excellence while collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Exposure to AI technologies in development and application performance (AIOps).
