Ansa.dev provides a closed-loop payments platform that lets merchants create and manage customer balances via an API. Merchants fund wallets for customers, enabling frequent small transactions (tips, microtransactions, order-ahead) while lowering payment processing costs. The platform tracks revenue, usage, savings, and liabilities and surfaces insights on spending and loyalty to drive repeat business. Revenue comes from subscriptions and transaction fees; the goal is to reduce costs, increase wallet-fueled transactions, and boost customer retention and profitability.

What believers are saying

  • Merchants using Ansa see average 30% increase in order frequency and higher transaction values.
  • Partnerships with Reverb, Sweetfin, and Scream Truck demonstrate traction across retail, dining, and marketplaces.
  • Series A funding of $14M in 2024 supports product development and engineering to capture growing demand.

What critics are saying

  • Stripe Treasury and Issuing enable merchants to embed customer balances directly, bypassing Ansa's platform.
  • Apple Pay stored value expansion commoditizes Ansa Anywhere, forcing adoption of native Apple solutions.
  • NY BitLicense regulatory expansion threatens stored value compliance, risking merchant onboarding halts and audits.

What makes Ansa unique

  • White-label API-first platform enables merchants to launch branded wallets in weeks, not quarters.
  • Ansa Anywhere tap-to-pay integrates Apple Pay and Google Pay without additional hardware requirements.
  • Native mobile SDKs for iOS and Android streamline wallet feature integration into merchant applications.
