Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a precision sheet metal or machine job shop environment, or equivalent, is required.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machine operation and/or machine shop inspection is required.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation is required.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience is required.
  • Experience creating nonconformance reports is required.
  • The employee must be thoroughly familiar with the calibration and use of dimensional measuring equipment.
  • The employee must be capable of performing First Article Inspection measurements and determining whether parts meet print requirements.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and material requirements planning systems is required.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and meet the stated shop-floor physical and vision requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines, Faro Arm equipment, or other specialized measuring instruments.
  • Perform hardness and conductivity tests.
  • Ensure instruments used for product acceptance are calibrated before use.
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Lead the internal quality team in timely and efficient decision-making.
  • Organize and strategically implement process improvements in collaboration with management.
  • Set daily workflow schedules when the manager is out of the office.
  • Ensure all areas are covered and adequately supported when the manager is out of the office.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ISO 9000 and statistical process control is a plus.
  • Employees will be trained in Rockwell hardness and conductivity testing before beginning inspection work.
  • Employees will be trained on First Article Inspections and the nonconformance reporting system.
