Senior Cloud Engineer
About the job
- Good written and spoken German skills at least at B2/C1 level.
- A degree in computer science or a comparable field, a suitable vocational qualification, or equivalent practical professional experience in IT is required as an alternative qualification.
- Advanced practical experience in a cloud environment, ideally as a cloud or security engineer, and familiarity with building and operating cloud infrastructure such as virtual networks, company connectivity, and firewalls.
- Confident use of OpenTofu to create structured, modular, reusable infrastructure-as-code.
- Ability to automate recurring tasks with Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Ideally, a strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance, such as policies, role-based access control, and compliance reporting.
- Agile work experience is desirable.
- Develop, automate, and operate the landing zone that provides the foundation for secure, stable, and efficient cloud projects.
- Take responsibility for central security and compliance topics and ensure environments comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Work with cloud, security, and application teams; translate business and technical requirements into viable cloud solutions; and make architecture and design decisions.
- Analyze problems and implement sustainable improvements to system performance, reliability, security, and cost.
- Use monitoring for transparency, troubleshooting, and optimization when applicable.
- Experience as a cloud or security engineer is preferred.
