Job Description

The community of Halifax is seeking a full scope family physician to join their family practice network team at the Hydrostone Medical Centre, centrally located and easily accessible by bus. When at full complement, this clinic has three Family Physicians, a physician assistant, and a Psychiatrist on site. The space available for an incoming physician at this clinic includes two large spacious rooms. This is a professionally managed clinic and is well supported by experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;
• Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
• Act as a patient’s advocate
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
• Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Expected Hours

Full time

Remuneration

• $375,000 - $400,000
• Remuneration type is either Longitudinal Family Medicine payment model or a Fee for Service payment model.

Qualifications

• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• All applicants must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
