About the Job

Requirements

  • NITEC, diploma, or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Three to five years of field experience with power products such as UPS, DC rectifiers, PDUs, STSs, and batteries, preferably in a data center environment.
  • Good technical knowledge of data center, mechanical and electrical, or critical environments.
  • Good understanding of operations management.
  • Commitment to meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction and demands.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out testing and commissioning, preventive maintenance, and time-and-material activities for power products such as AC UPS and DC rectifiers, providing professional and efficient service within time, expense, and profitability constraints.
  • Respond promptly to assigned emergency service calls while on 24/7 standby duty.
  • Be available on weekends, holidays, and after office hours to support the team.
  • Participate in field troubleshooting with the technical support team, fellow field engineers, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure Vertiv and client occupational health and safety requirements are followed.
  • Attend required safety courses on time.
  • Use adequate personal protective equipment, appropriate tools, and calibrated instruments in field activities.
  • Report incidents on time.
  • Support the Team Lead and Power Team Manager in planning, scheduling, and organizing departmental matters.
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, site acceptance test procedures, and incident reports.
  • Complete job debriefing promptly and continuously monitor and meet objectives and key results.
  • Coordinate with the project management team to plan testing and commissioning schedules.
  • Attend required safety and technical courses.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships between the company and its customers, and promptly report complaints so remedial action can be taken.
  • Maintain competence to handle the technology required by applications through company-provided training and coaching.
  • Keep the company vehicle, personal dress, and appearance presentable; understand company policy and conduct company business efficiently and professionally.

  • Field experience with power products such as UPS, DC rectifiers, PDUs, STSs, and batteries in a data center environment is preferred.
