- Perform housekeeping activities including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, laundry, shampooing carpets, scrubbing bathrooms, cleaning counters, taking out trash, and cleaning windows.
- Restock common-area bistros, bathrooms, resident rooms, and resident bathrooms with appropriate paper products and hand soap.
- Follow detailed cleaning worksheets or checklists for each room and common area.
- Set up and mix water and detergents in proper containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Clean floors and walls in community common areas and resident rooms by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment, including moving furniture as needed.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaner, sponges, and squeegees.
- Make adjustments to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, which may include changing filters.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Remove debris from outdoor porches, the parking lot, and the dumpster area.
- Ensure common-area and resident bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, and liquid soap.
- Replace light bulbs throughout the community.
- Clean suites with two residents twice a week.
- Document the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems in the maintenance log and housekeeping checklist, and notify the supervisor.
