About the company

Solidroad builds an AI-native quality assurance and training platform for customer support teams. It continuously analyzes every customer interaction across both human and AI agents to detect risk and skill gaps, and it triggers personalized coaching in real time to improve CS quality without adding headcount. The platform serves customers such as Ryanair, ŌURA, ActiveCampaign and Crypto.com, and is headquartered in San Francisco with a Dublin presence. Founded by CEO Mark Hughes and CTO Patrick Finlay, Solidroad closed a $25 million Series A in April 2026 led by Hedosophia with participation from First Round Capital, Y Combinator and Sony Innovation Fund, following a seed round in June 2025. The company’s goal is to help support teams scale quality and performance through automated evaluation and coaching, rather than relying on proportional hiring.

Solidroad raises $25M Series A three years after launching without a product idea

Solidroad, a Dublin-based startup co-founded by Mark Hughes and Patrick Finlay in 2023, has raised $25 million in Series A funding. The company, which went through Y Combinator, now operates offices in both Dublin and San Francisco. The founders initially launched without a clear product direction. Over three years, they navigated the search for product-market fit and secured major enterprise customers through founder-led sales. Hughes relocated to San Francisco as the company scaled. The startup's journey included multiple attempts to gain acceptance into Y Combinator before successfully joining the accelerator programme.

Solidroad bags $25M from Hedosophia to bring AI quality assurance to customer support

Solidroad, a Y Combinator alum, has raised $25 million in a Series A led by Hedosophia, bringing total funding to $33 million. The San Francisco-based startup provides AI quality assurance for customer support, analysing every interaction rather than the industry standard 2–3% sample rate. Founded in 2023 by former Intercom colleagues Mark Hughes and Patrick Finlay, Solidroad addresses the quality blind spot created as AI handles more customer conversations. The platform integrates into existing workflows, scoring interactions, identifying skill gaps and triggering personalised coaching simulations based on agent performance. Customers include Ryanair, ŌURA, ActiveCampaign and Crypto.com. The company competes with Observe.ai, MaestroQA and Zendesk-acquired Klaus. The funding will support team expansion across San Francisco and Dublin and continued product development for enterprise markets.
