Curve Dental introduces Curve Memberships, helping practices strengthen patient retention & profitability through membership-driven care.

Curve Dental introduces Curve Memberships, helping practices strengthen patient retention & profitability through membership-driven care. Sep 03, 2026, 09:33 ET Integrated seamlessly with Curve, Curve Memberships helps practices identify enrollment opportunities, automate patient outreach and keep payments connected to billing and collections ALPHARETTA, Ga., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Curve Dental(R), the leader in AI-powered, cloud-native, all-in-one dental practice management software, today announced Curve Memberships, designed to help practices identify patients who could benefit from an in-house dental membership plan, simplify enrollment and build more predictable recurring revenue. Curve Memberships works seamlessly with the patient information dental teams already manage in Curve. Practices can engage uninsured patients and those interested in services outside their insurance coverage - such as whitening and other elective care not covered by their plan - while creating a simpler path to membership enrollment. Once patients enroll, membership payments automatically post to the patient account in Curve, keeping membership billing, collections and patient records connected to the system the practice already uses every day. The result is stronger patient loyalty and a more streamlined membership experience for the practice. "Dental membership plans work - until they become one more thing the front desk has to remember, " said Luke Anderson, Chief Product Officer at Curve Dental. "Curve Memberships connects with the software the team already uses all day, so identifying patients, driving enrollment and managing membership payments becomes part of the workflow - not more tasks to manage. That means practices can grow revenue without adding more work to the team's day." Turning the Schedule Into an Enrollment Engine More than 1 in 5 working-age U.S. adults have no dental benefits, according to the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute, underscoring the need for more flexible ways for patients to access and pay for dental care. In-house dental membership plans can help meet that need, but they often depend on staff recognizing an opportunity, explaining the program during a busy patient interaction and remembering to follow up afterward. Curve Memberships streamlines that process by automatically delivering personalized invitations, helping practices grow enrollment without maintaining separate lists, spreadsheets or manual outreach campaigns. For patients, these plans provide a straightforward, subscription-style way to understand the cost and value of their care. For practices, they can strengthen loyalty and create a more direct, predictable financial relationship with patients. Memberships that Support a Healthier Practice A healthy, growing practice doesn't have to depend on insurance reimbursement alone. Membership plans can help create more predictable recurring revenue while reducing some of the administrative burden that comes with insurance-based care. They can also support case acceptance by giving patients clearer, more approachable costs for services they may otherwise delay or decline - particularly care that falls outside insurance coverage. Dental membership plans create a more direct relationship between the practice and patient, helping practices strengthen loyalty while giving patients a clearer path to care they value. Practices can also use the reports they already rely on in Curve to see production and collections trends across their membership patients and better understand the impact of their program. "Membership-driven care gives practices more control over the economics of care while giving patients a clearer way to say yes to treatment," said Anderson. "Curve Memberships helps make that easier to manage - from identifying opportunities and enrollment through payments and performance." Built for the Way Practices Work Curve Memberships connects membership information with the patient record and everyday workflows dental teams already manage in Curve, giving teams greater visibility into member status and relevant care opportunities without adding another disconnected process. Practices also receive dedicated support for setup and launch, along with a marketing toolkit designed to help introduce, promote and build participation in their membership program. With Curve Memberships, practices can: * Identify patients who may benefit from a membership plan * Automatically deliver personalized invitations * See membership information within existing patient workflows * Auto-post payments to the patient account in Curve * Launch and promote plans with dedicated support and marketing resources * Reduce manual tracking, spreadsheets and disconnected processes * Measure contribution through Curve reporting Expanding the Platform Practices Won't Outgrow Curve Memberships is the latest expansion of Curve's end-to-end cloud platform and follows the company's recently announced $200 million commitment to research and development. Curve continues to invest across AI, automation, payments and other tools designed to reduce complexity and help dental practices operate and grow more efficiently. Curve Memberships will be rolled out to eligible Curve customers this month. Practices interested in learning more can visit curvedental.com/membership-plans. Curve Dental commits $200M to R&D as revenue nears $100M milestone

Curve Dental has announced a $200 million investment in research and development as the company approaches $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The dental software provider, which holds around 20% of the cloud dental practice market, has invested $100 million in R&D over the past eight years. Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack said the company is profitable and growing whilst reinvesting tens of millions of dollars annually in product development and customer services. Curve's platform serves dental practices across the United States and Canada with AI-driven cloud-based practice management software. Cormack predicts significant consolidation in the dental software market, estimating that over 40% of practice management software vendors will not exist within 36 to 48 months. He noted that 85% of North America's roughly 160,000 dental practices still use legacy client-server systems.

Curve Dental commits $200 million to R&D as cloud platform nears $100M ARR.

Curve Dental commits $200 million to R&D as cloud platform nears $100M ARR. Curve Dental announced a $200 million R&D investment on August 20, 2026. The funding targets its Curve Hero cloud platform and its ecosystem of native tools. Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack backed the news with a blunt warning for competitors. The company itself is approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Tl;dr. * Curve Dental commits $200 million in new R&D funding for its Curve Hero platform. * The company nears $100 million in annual recurring revenue through organic growth. * CEO Dave Cormack predicts over 40 percent of practice management vendors will disappear within four years. * Curve holds close to 20 percent of the cloud dental practice management market. What Curve Dental announced. Curve Dental confirmed the funding commitment through its own newsroom. The company published the news on August 20, 2026. The announcement adds to $100 million already spent on R&D over the past eight years. Combined, the two figures put Curve's product investment near $300 million since current leadership took over. The funding goes toward Curve Hero, the company's flagship cloud platform. It also covers a wider ecosystem of native capabilities built around that platform. Curve Dental serves single-location practices, small groups, and DSOs. It operates across the United States and Canada. Curve's revenue and market position. Curve Dental is nearing $100 million in annual recurring revenue. Almost all of that growth has come from organic customer adoption rather than acquisitions. The company holds close to 20 percent of the cloud dental practice management market. Dave Cormack serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He has spent 40 years working in high-growth software companies. Cormack previously led Brightree, a homecare software platform, from startup to market leader. He and the current leadership team acquired Curve Dental nine years ago. "Nine years ago, today's leadership team at Curve, having previously grown Brightree from a startup to the most successful cloud software platform in the homecare market, fell in love with the opportunity to deliver the most compelling solution for the dental industry when we saw that close to 100% of the market was relying on 20- to 30-year-old client-server solutions. No other opportunity in healthcare came close," Dave Cormack noted. Stay in the loop. What the investment will fund. The $200 million adds to spending Curve has already disclosed. In 2025, the company said it was committing $20 million a year to AI. That funding built out Curve FLO AI, a suite already live inside the platform. Curve lists several native capabilities already built on that platform. * Patient engagement tools for scheduling and communication, branded Curve GRO. * Eligibility+, an AI-powered insurance verification tool. * Curve Pay, integrated payment processing with next-day deposits. * Curve Care+, a voice-driven suite for notes, charting, and perio documentation. * Ask CurveAI, an in-platform assistant for software and workflow questions. * Revenue cycle management, sometimes shortened to RCM. * Membership plan administration for patients without insurance. * Orthodontics-specific workflow tools. * Business intelligence reporting and analytics. Suzanne Henderson, Curve Dental's Chief Technology Officer, has spoken about the thinking behind tools like Eligibility+. "We're not just digitizing verification, we're rethinking it," Henderson said. Curve reports that practices using its AI Suite save staff time. The company also reports fewer missed steps on treatment plans. Curve cites up to 280 minutes saved per day for some practices. It also cites a 40 percent drop in administrative workload. A 20 percent lift in treatment acceptance is another figure Curve reports. Results vary by practice size and adoption. Cormack said multi-practice software rarely scales down well for solo and small group practices. He said Curve built its platform natively for practices of every size. That approach differs from adapting a large-scale system after the fact. Curve also offers API access so practices can connect approved third-party vendors where needed. Cormack on market consolidation. Cormack expects large changes across the dental software market. He set that timeline at the next several years. He pointed to how many practices still run on older systems. Roughly 160,000 dental practices operate across North America. About 85 percent of them still run legacy client-server software, according to Cormack's estimate. He expects that gap to close quickly as more practices move to the cloud. Cormack predicted that vendor numbers will shrink as that shift plays out. He said more than 40 percent of practice management vendors will not exist. His timeline for that was 36 to 48 months. He linked part of that prediction to companies spending on acquisitions instead of R&D and support. "A dental software death spiral is upon us," Cormack said. Cormack also raised concerns about platforms built through acquisition rather than native development. He said acquired product collections often leave practices with fragmented data. Separate interfaces and inconsistent workflows across tools add complexity for staff. He said Curve's fully native build avoids that fragmentation. What this means for dental practices. Software vendor stability is a practical concern. Any practice evaluating a switch should weigh it. A vendor's R&D spending and profitability offer some signal about long-term support. Practices comparing platforms typically look at how patient records, billing, and scheduling connect. A single platform that keeps clinical and financial data together simplifies staff training. It also reduces the manual work needed to keep separate systems in sync. Consolidation in the vendor market also affects practices planning a sale or acquisition. Buyers often inherit the seller's technology stack along with the patient base. Software continuity is one more factor to weigh during that kind of transition. Practices already using AI tools for insurance or charting may benefit first. New features under this funding could reach them before other users. Practices still on legacy systems have more reason to plan ahead. A migration timeline set in advance beats one forced by a vendor's financial trouble. What to expect next. Curve has released new AI features every few months over the past two years. Ask CurveAI launched in February 2025. Eligibility+ followed in August 2025, alongside the wider Curve FLO AI suite. Curve Care+ launched in July 2026 as a voice-driven tool for clinical documentation. Jana Macon, Curve Dental's President, spoke about that release pace when Ask CurveAI launched. "Curve has always prioritized innovation that simplifies practice management," Macon said. Given that pace, further additions to the Curve+ AI Suite are likely over the next year. Cormack's comments point toward continued spending on eligibility checks, payments, and clinical documentation. They point less toward a shift into new product categories. The company has not given a public roadmap for the $200 million figure. No release date has been tied to it either. Practices already on Curve can expect ongoing updates rolled into their existing subscription. Practices evaluating a switch should ask any vendor for specifics. That includes what a stated investment figure funds and on what timeline. Bottom line. Curve Dental has added $200 million to its R&D budget for Curve Hero. The company is nearing $100 million in annual recurring revenue. That growth came mostly through organic customer adoption. Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack expects the market to consolidate over the next few years. He advises practices to weigh a vendor's R&D spending and profitability before switching systems. Practices considering a move should treat platform architecture as seriously as the feature list. About the professional. Dr. Maren owns a private practice where she specializes in anxiety-free dental care for children and adults. Curve Dental announces $200 million R&D investment.

Curve Dental announces $200 million R&D investment. As Curve Approaches $100 Million in Annual Recurring Revenue, Chairman and CEO Dave Cormack Predicts Major Shift in Dental Software Market ALPHARETTA, Ga., Aug. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Curve Dental(R), the leader in modern AI-driven all-in-one dental software with an integrated end-to-end cloud platform, today announced a further $200 million investment in its Curve Hero product and comprehensive ecosystem of native best-in-class capabilities. Record-breaking year-over-year growth since 2018, driven by rapid customer adoption, has enabled Curve to reinvest tens of millions of dollars each year in product development and customer services. The company is rapidly approaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue, almost entirely generated through organic growth. With around 20% of the cloud dental practice market, Curve is fulfilling its promise to deliver best-in-class native functionality for single-location, small-group, and DSO practices - without requiring customers to contract with and manage multiple software vendors. Recognizing market demand for an open platform, Curve's API capability supports vendor integrations that meet rigorous standards for quality, security, reliability, interoperability and customer experience. Dave Cormack, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Curve Dental and a 40-year veteran of high-growth software companies, reflected on the company's journey: "Nine years ago, today's leadership team at Curve, having previously grown Brightree from a startup to the most successful cloud software platform in the homecare market, fell in love with the opportunity to deliver the most compelling solution for the dental industry when Health Technology Net saw that close to 100% of the market was relying on 20- to 30-year-old client-server solutions. No other opportunity in healthcare came close. Discover more Pharmaceuticals Medical Facilities & Services "Health Technology Net acquired Curve Dental because it provided an excellent foundation for Health Technology Net to build a fully integrated, end-to-end cloud platform. In my experience, multi-practice software cannot be scaled down for single locations or small-group practices. It must be built natively from the ground up - and that is exactly what Health Technology Net did. "After $100 million of R&D investment in the last eight years, Curve has continually modernized into a fully native, single sign-on platform for solo practices to small multi-location groups and DSOs, including patient engagement, intelligent phone integration, advanced eligibility, credit card payments, auto payment posting, RCM, membership plans, orthodontics workflow, business intelligence and more. Curve is giving the dental industry a new way to practice and a better way to grow." Investing for the Long Term Cormack said Curve's financial position gives practices confidence that the company will continue investing for the long term: "As a $100 million annual recurring revenue business, Health Technology Net is profitable and growing while reinvesting tens of millions of dollars each year in product development and customer services. As such, the dental market can be confident that Health Technology Net is here for the long term. "My strong advice to any dental practice considering a move to a cloud system is to make sure that the software vendor is profitable, so it can continue to reinvest, and compare what they plan to spend on research and development against Curve's $200 million commitment." Reflecting on Curve's extensive R&D commitment and what he believes will be a major consolidation of the dental software market, Cormack said: "Its leadership has lived this journey many times and, as they say, Health Technology Net has seen this movie before, bought the T-shirt, and Health Technology Net always deliver for its customers. "With 85% of the roughly 160,000 dental practices in North America still on a legacy client-server system, Curve will focus all its efforts on delivering the most compelling native end-to-end cloud platform in the market - one that meets the needs of practices of all sizes and stages of growth, so that they'll never outgrow Curve. "We will achieve that by continuing to hire and retain great people who have a passion and desire to delight our customers. It's the only way." A Market at an Inflection Point Cormack believes the shift from legacy client-server systems to integrated cloud platforms will also drive significant consolidation across the dental software market over the next several years. "A dental software death spiral is upon Health Technology Net. As the market rapidly shifts from legacy systems to the cloud, the vendor market across the ecosystem is oversaturated - from core practice-management platforms to add-on solutions for patient engagement, analytics, imaging and more. Discover more Medical Devices & Equipment Engineering & Technology Internet & Telecom "But moving to the cloud is only part of the equation. Practices should look beyond the cloud label to understand how a platform has actually been built and how well its products work together. While Curve has been 100% natively-built, many competitors have acquired a mismatched collection of products that leaves practices with fragmented data, multiple user interfaces, inconsistent workflows and integration complexity. These platforms do anything but operate as one unified system. "I predict that over 40 percent of practice management software vendors, with an alarming number burning through cash to buy market share at the expense of R&D and customer services, will not exist in 36 to 48 months. The same pressure will affect point solutions that create more complexity than differentiated customer value, as AI-driven cloud platforms increasingly deliver those capabilities natively in a fully integrated manner and at a lower total cost of ownership than practices currently employ through licensing software from five or six different vendors. Cormack concluded by returning to Curve's commitment to its customers: "Its customers' success is how Health Technology Net measure its own success. Health Technology Net work to earn their business every single day by listening, responding promptly and continually keeping the Curve Hero platform ahead of its competition. "If you haven't seen Curve in action recently - or at all - I encourage you to talk with us about the challenges you face and see how we can better serve you."
