About the company

Electric Air is a technology-enabled HVAC contractor focusing on residential heat pumps in the San Francisco Bay Area. It uses in-house engineers and technicians to design, quote, and install heat pump systems (ducted, ductless, and water heaters) from start to finish, with fast quotes generated by proprietary software after an online questionnaire. Pricing is flat and transparent, with financing and help securing rebates to lower upfront costs. The goal is to accelerate heat-pump adoption, reduce installation costs, and support home decarbonization by delivering end-to-end, engineered installations.

What believers are saying

  • October 2026 site claims 600+ installs and $3.5K average savings per home.
  • July 2026 pricing shows fixed-price installs and 24–48 hour virtual quotes, easing conversion.
  • BLOND's 2023 design work and 2024 merger sharpen the brand and product story.

What critics are saying

  • Electric Air reported only $130K seed funding, leaving little cushion against slow sales.
  • Competing HVAC firms and utilities can undercut pricing before Electric Air scales beyond Bay Area.
  • If 600-install momentum stalls, the combined company becomes an engineering-heavy contractor without venture returns.

What makes Electric Air unique

  • YC-backed, merged Electric Air and Helios Climate combine hardware, software, and contractor execution.
  • Electric Air runs its own crews, not a marketplace, controlling permits, pricing, and installs.
  • 2026 site shows 600+ installations, rare traction for a Bay Area heat-pump contractor.
