About the job

Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent technical fluency.
  • At least 8 years in program or engineering management for hardware programs, including ownership of the detailed build or assembly, integration, and test schedule on at least one program.
  • Demonstrated task-level schedule ownership, including resource-loaded plans, negotiated durations, and the ability to explain the critical path.
  • Multi-disciplinary integration experience running schedules spanning mechanical, electrical, software, and test rather than a single-function plan.
  • Exposure to hardware production or integration and test, including time on or adjacent to the production floor while something was being built.
Responsibilities
  • Own execution of company projects and programs against company goals and committed delivery dates.
  • Build and maintain an integrated schedule across engineering, production, and software functions, including guidance, navigation and control; flight software; ground software; communications; systems; electronics; optical; mechanical; thermal; and production, with a critical path and explicit schedule margin.
  • Manage schedule detail for assembly, integration, and test flow, production sequencing, resource loading, test-stand and fixture contention, and long-lead procurement, working directly with the people doing the work.
  • Partner with team leads and systems engineering to translate technical plans into durations they will support, and challenge durations that are overly optimistic.
  • Identify schedule slips early, run replanning, quantify options, and present decisions to the team.
  • Own the execution cadence and maintain accurate records in Linear as the system of record, including health, status, and dependencies.
  • Build the program-management practice, including cadence, reporting, escalation, and schedule standards that can be used as programs and headcount grow.
  • Represent programs to external customers and partners where applicable, while keeping internal delivery ownership as the primary focus.
Desired Qualifications
  • CAPM or PMP certification.

About the company

Albedo operates a Very Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation to capture high-resolution Earth imagery and thermal data. Its dual-modality data provides 10 cm panchromatic (visible) and 2-meter infrared imagery by placing satellites much closer to Earth than typical observers. After launching Clarity-1 in 2025, the company planned a 24-satellite constellation by 2028 and then shifted to focus on manufacturing VLEO satellite buses for other operators while offering imagery through partners. The data supports fields like agriculture, insurance, energy, infrastructure, mapping, and national security with the goal of scaling the constellation and enabling broader access to high-resolution geospatial information through satellite bus manufacturing.

What believers are saying

  • NRO awarded Stage II in August 2025, enabling commercial tasking and demos.
  • Albedo said Clarity-1 beat drag targets by 12% in January 2026.
  • April 2026 Vicinity targets higher-power payloads like SAR, EW, and tactical communications.

What critics are saying

  • Clarity-1 lost contact in January 2026; follow-on bus reliability remains unproven.
  • October 2025 imagery shutdown cut its original product, forcing sales-cycle resets.
  • A failed 2027 Vicinity launch kills Albedo's VLEO bus thesis and investor story.

What makes Albedo unique

  • Clarity-1 proved VLEO imaging in March 2025 and autonomous descent.
  • Albedo owns flight-proven VLEO bus IP after January 2026 Clarity-1 anomalies.
  • January 2026 telemetry failures exposed in-house radio and recovery engineering capabilities.

Albedo raises $100M at $285M valuation

Satellite imagery startup Albedo is raising a Series B funding round, valuing the company at $285 million pre-money. Led by General Innovation Capital, the round will bring in nearly $100 million. Albedo, which launched its first satellite, Clarity-1, and secured a $12 million US Air Force contract, has raised privacy concerns due to its high-resolution imagery capabilities. Founded in 2020, Albedo's investors include Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Y Combinator.

Grande Fratello Spaziale. I Satelliti Spioni Di Una Startup Usa
