About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A current and active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience in radar air-to-ground applications, including developing and applying models in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
  • Experience with radar or radio frequency systems, with demonstrated contributions in systems engineering, modeling, or integration.
  • Knowledge of air-to-ground radar concepts and modes.
  • Experience with modeling and analysis tools such as MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Ability to develop and manage requirements, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop radar system architectures for air-to-ground missions, including synthetic aperture radar (SAR), inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR), ground moving target indication/tracking (GMTI/T), targeting, weather, surface return, sea surface search, and ship track.
  • Lead requirements analysis, allocation, and flow-down to subsystems, including radio frequency front-end, signal processing, and interfaces.
  • Own and maintain system and subsystem specifications and interface control documents (ICDs), ensuring traceability to mission and platform needs.

  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and real-time implementation constraints.
  • Experience leading small technical teams or work packages.

About the Company

Northrop Grumman

Builds stealth bombers, missiles, and satellites

Northrop Grumman builds military aircraft, missiles, rocket motors, satellites, and electronic systems, mostly for the American military and allied governments. It designed the B-2 stealth bomber and built NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, the largest telescope ever sent to space. The company works through four businesses: aircraft, missiles and ammunition, radar and communications systems, and space hardware such as satellites and solid rocket boosters. Most revenue comes from long-term government contracts, many of them classified. Its roots go back to Northrop Aircraft, founded in 1939, and it took its name after buying Grumman in 1994 and is based in Falls Church, Virginia.
