Intuit Intelligence unites businesses and accountants on one AI platform, adds industry editions

Intuit expanded its Intuit Intelligence platform across QuickBooks, Intuit Enterprise Suite, and Intuit Accountant Suite. It announced the updates on October 27, 2026, at its Intuit Connect event in Las Vegas. New industry-specific editions of Intuit Enterprise Suite target mid-market construction, manufacturing, and nonprofit businesses. Intuit Accountant Suite gains Agentic Books Close, which automates more of the monthly close while accountants review and approve. Intuit says AI categorises more than 400 million transactions monthly, and accountants see an estimated 30% cut in manual work. More than 250,000 accounting firms have adopted Intuit Accountant Suite. QuickBooks users get AI invoicing tools that Intuit says help businesses get paid four days faster on average. The features are rolling out to US customers, with some still in beta.

Intuit launches Credit Karma Tax with free federal filing.

Intuit launches Credit Karma Tax with free federal filing. Fri, 23rd Oct 2026 Intuit has launched Credit Karma Tax, offering free federal filing and a flat USD $15 state filing fee. Eligible users can also access their federal tax refunds up to five days early through a Credit Karma checking account. The product sits within Credit Karma, which Intuit is positioning as a broader financial management service rather than just a credit score platform. It is available through the Credit Karma website and app as a separate tax preparation offering. Credit Karma Tax targets users with a range of tax needs, with the same pricing regardless of return complexity. It includes a self-guided filing process supported by AI tools before, during and after submission. Users can import tax documents from employers and financial institutions or upload them by photograph. The service can also pre-fill returns using financial data already held across areas including income, credit, cash flow and taxes. Pricing model Federal filing is free, while state filing costs USD $15 per return. Intuit is also offering paid add-ons, including an expert support bundle priced at USD $29 at launch and an expert final review option priced at USD $39 at launch. The expert support bundle includes audit defence, identity protection benefits, live product support and the option to pay the state filing fee from a tax refund. The final review option adds a tax expert review. The product also uses automated checks before submission to meet US federal and state tax requirements. Returns are covered by a 100% accuracy guarantee, under which Intuit would cover penalties and interest if a calculation error led to a tax authority penalty. AI features The service includes built-in AI support tools, including expert chat, and Intuit said explanation and error agents will be added. These features are intended to help users understand outcomes on their returns and identify mistakes during preparation. Intuit is also linking the tax product to a wider set of financial tools inside Credit Karma. These include a refund agent to suggest uses for a tax refund, a debt agent that builds repayment plans, and a paycheck agent that allocates income across bills, spending and savings goals. Intuit said tax refunds remain a significant financial event for many US households, citing internal commentary that 70% of Americans rely on refunds to cover basic living expenses. That focus on quicker access to refunds is reflected in one of the main product features. Users who deposit their federal refund into a Credit Karma checking account can receive the money up to five days early. Intuit also outlined a refund advance loan of up to USD $4,000 with no loan fees and 0% APR as part of the Tax Year 2026 version of the service. The loan feature is part of its effort to extend tax filing into a broader set of personal finance products around borrowing, debt reduction and budgeting. Credit Karma became part of Intuit in 2020, giving the group a larger foothold in consumer personal finance beyond tax software and small business accounting. The latest launch further connects that business with Intuit's tax operations as it seeks to use customer data across multiple financial activities. Mark Notarainni, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Group at Intuit, said the launch expands Credit Karma's role in members' day-to-day finances. "Today Credit Karma is so much more than a place to check your credit score; it's delivering true financial confidence, where daily money management helps build the life our members want whether that's affording a place to call home for their family, or planning a dream trip," said Notarainni. "By adding transparent, free federal filing specifically tailored to our members, no matter how complex their tax situation, we are expanding Credit Karma's role as their daily AI-powered financial assistant, helping them strategically spend, save, and grow their money in one place," he said.

Intuit shares fall 50% but $8.6B free cash flow and 81% gross margin fuel rebound case

Intuit's shares have fallen more than 50% over the past year, but a bullish thesis argues the financial software maker is now cheap. The stock traded at $335.61 on October 21, 2026, with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 12.66, against 28.90 a year earlier. Intuit, which owns QuickBooks, TurboTax, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, posted $21.4 billion in revenue over the past twelve months, up 13.9%. Its gross margin is about 81%, and fiscal 2026 free cash flow was about $8.6 billion. The company is cutting about 17% of its workforce, roughly 3,000 jobs, to fund AI development. Risks include slower do-it-yourself tax growth, shareholder lawsuits, and lenders pulling back from Credit Karma. The average analyst price target of $405.60 implies about 26% upside from $321.57. Hedge fund holders rose to 98 from 92 in the second quarter.
