  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years of experience in content creation, social media, digital marketing, communications, video production, or a related role.
  • A portfolio demonstrating personally created and edited content across multiple formats, such as video, photography, social media, web copy, email, blogs, or campaign materials.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format by audience and channel.
  • Hands-on experience capturing and editing photo and video content, including short-form social video.
  • Experience with creative and editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging content formats.
  • Basic understanding of content performance metrics, social analytics, search engine optimization concepts, and digital campaign reporting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Create and edit content across social media posts, short-form videos, photography, website copy, blog articles, email content, digital advertisements, event recaps, product explainers, internal communications, and campaign materials.
  • Capture, produce, and edit photo and video content using smartphones, cameras, microphones, lighting, and basic production tools.
  • Develop social-first content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other priority channels, including captions, thumbnails, hooks, transitions, music, and platform-specific formats.
  • Write and edit clear, engaging, brand-appropriate copy for digital, social, web, print, and internal communications.
  • Adapt product launches, partnerships, public relations moments, community involvement, employee stories, career opportunities, events, and larger marketing campaigns into content for multiple audiences.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and maintenance of the content and social media calendar across priority platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, mentions, reviews, and community conversations, escalating or responding as appropriate to support positive engagement.
  • Track content performance and prepare basic reporting on reach, engagement, views, watch time, follower growth, top-performing posts, and content opportunities.
  • Monitor social media trends, creator formats, platform updates, competitor activity, and industry best practices to recommend relevant content ideas.
  • Support search engine optimization and generative engine optimization-focused content initiatives by helping create content that improves visibility, discoverability, and audience relevance.
  • Maintain organized photo, video, creative, and content asset libraries for ongoing marketing use.
  • Ensure content aligns with the bank's brand standards, compliance requirements, tone, visual identity, and messaging priorities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics or GA4, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, or social scheduling tools.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, professional services, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting live events, webinars, community initiatives, recruiting content, executive communications, or employee storytelling.
  • Basic motion graphics, animation, or graphic design skills.
  • Familiarity with paid social creative best practices and digital advertising formats.
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Buffer, HubSpot, or native platform analytics.

LOWELL - In celebration of Lowell's bicentennial, the city announced the availability of grant funding to support cultural and creative initiatives. This funding opportunity is made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act and is intended to revitalize Lowell's cultural economy, which was disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 pandemic-related disruption.
