Confluence Behavioral Health

View

Confluence Behavioral Health provides a full continuum of behavioral health care for young adults in Vermont, including residential treatment, transitional living, and intensive outpatient services. Care combines clinical services (psychiatric evaluations, medication management, neuropsychological assessments) with coaching on executive functioning, life skills, and wellness, delivered across a Thetford Center residential program and Burlington-based programs. Treatments use evidence-based models such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, and are supported by insurance or private-pay options. The independently owned, founder-led organization emphasizes seamless care, strong family involvement, and accreditation by The Joint Commission and Vermont licensing, with the goal of helping emerging adults achieve stability and transition to independent adulthood.

What believers are saying

  • Confluence's website updated August 2026 shows active operations and ongoing program marketing.
  • Joint Commission accreditation remained listed in 2026, supporting referral trust and payer confidence.
  • Vermont Agency of Human Services oversight strengthens credibility with families and insurers.

What critics are saying

  • Insurance dependence concentrates revenue; coaching and transitional housing remain private-pay only in 2026.
  • Short-term 75-90 day stays force constant admissions flow, exposing occupancy volatility.
  • The 2017 Thetford zoning fight shows neighbors can challenge future expansion or facility changes.

What makes Confluence Behavioral Health unique

  • Confluence offers ages 18-28 continuum care across residential, IOP, and transitional living.
  • Thetford Center campus and Burlington programs create a Vermont-only, tightly integrated treatment footprint.
  • Joint Commission accreditation and Vermont licensing signal unusually formal quality controls for an owner-operated provider.
