Arla introduces your latest Strava fitness rivals with Cow Step Challenge.

Arla introduces your latest Strava fitness rivals with Cow Step Challenge. Advertising Agency ADD TO COLLECTION 04/09/2026 With 'The Cow Step Challenge' campaign from Accenture Song Nordics, Arla Milk and Strava are challenging Danes to walk more steps than a cow out on grass "Can you out-step an Arla cow on grass?" That is the challenge behind 'The Cow Step Challenge', which Danes will be able to experience in the Strava app over the coming weeks. Strava has become a popular platform for cyclists and runners to track and compare routes and performance. But now, users can also battle five real-life Arla cows, each with their own Strava profile, and see if they can take more steps in a day than a grazing cow. "We know from research that most Danes care about the welfare of our dairy cows. So, we chose to put that front and centre, while at the same time keeping the message clear and simple," said Christoffer Qvirin Holst, associate brand manager at Arla. The milk consumed by most Danes comes from cows that spend the entire summer half-year out on grass. Among other things, this is why Arla Milk carries two animal welfare hearts. "Milk is a very generic category, and showing cows out on grass is nothing new. So creatively, there is a need to activate the message in a new way that can both entertain and engage. Rather than simply telling the story, the ambition was to get Danes to become part of it themselves. More and more people are tracking their daily steps, and that was a behavior we could tap directly into through Strava's new steps feature. This is the first brand partnership of its kind, and when we presented the idea to Strava, they laughed and said yes straight away," said Mads Tagel, creative director at Accenture Song. In the Strava app, five different cows appear with their own profiles - acting as a kind of cowfluencers alongside the other athletes' users can follow and compare themselves with. Users can choose whether to battle Agnes, Maren, Karen, Bitten or Tina and see how their daily step count measures up against theirs. Cows have different personalities, which also come through in their behaviour out in the field. Some are more curious and explore their surroundings, while others are more cautious. "Together with local Arla farmers from different parts of Denmark, we found the cows and tried to bring their individual personalities to life through the creative expression and their Strava profiles," explained Maja Kargaard, senior creative at Accenture Song. The cows' activity is tracked using Garmin watches attached to their collars, recording their movements continuously for five weeks. Throughout the campaign period, a new day's data is uploaded to each of the five cows' Strava profiles. Credits Add my Credit

Travel South Dakota partners with Strava, Canyon, Bikeflights, and Endura to launch "Cycle the 605" Campaign.

Travel South Dakota partners with Strava, Canyon, Bikeflights, and Endura to launch "Cycle the 605" Campaign. By Justin Cowart Aug 24, 2026 | 3:41 PM PIERRE, S.D. - Travel South Dakota is inviting adventurers everywhere to discover the spirit of movement and exploration with the launch of "Cycle the 605," a campaign inspired by South Dakota's wide-open landscapes, endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, and the freedom to explore. Adventurers everywhere are encouraged to get outside and participate in the official Cycle the 605 Strava Challenge by completing 605 minutes of activity, a number inspired by South Dakota's statewide 605 area code. Celebrating movement in all its forms, the challenge runs through September 4, 2026. Participants are encouraged to log any combination of activities including cycling, running, hiking, walking and swimming, on the Strava app. Those who complete the Cycle the 605 Strava Challenge can then enter the Cycle the 605 Sweepstakes for a chance to win a South Dakota cycling getaway for two, featuring two Canyon Grizl bikes, lodging, Endura gift cards, Bikeflights credit and more. "South Dakota offers diverse terrain and the kind of wide-open spaces that are increasingly rare and more sought after than ever by travelers," said James Hagen, Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism. "From rural gravel roads to iconic rides through our state and national parks, there are endless opportunities to explore. We're excited to partner with Strava, Canyon and Endura to inspire more people to discover just how much room there is to roam." The campaign builds on a May 2026 content-creation experience that brought cyclists, athletes, and brand ambassadors to South Dakota to explore the state's diverse terrain and cycling culture. The resulting photo and video assets now power the Cycle the 605 campaign across digital and social platforms for Travel South Dakota and each of the brand partners. As interest in cycling tourism continues to grow, Cycle the 605 positions South Dakota as a destination where riders can experience world-class gravel riding, mountain biking, and road cycling across the state's expansive network of open roads and trails. The initiative also expands awareness of South Dakota among Strava's global community and the dedicated audiences of Canyon, Bikeflights, and Endura. The South Dakota Department of Tourism is comprised of Travel South Dakota and the South Dakota Arts Council. The Department is led by Secretary James D. Hagen.

Strava and Samsung in pre-install partnership, as new Strava features are released.

Strava and Samsung in pre-install partnership, as new Strava features are released. Strava, the fitness tracking platform that now boasts over 200 million users in more than 185 countries, has announced a strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics. Unveiled at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, the deal will see the Strava app pre-installed on upcoming Galaxy Watches globally, starting with the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2. The partnership includes a 60-day free Strava subscription for buyers of the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2, providing access to the platform's paid features upon device setup. In addition, Strava will be natively integrated into Samsung Health. This integration will bring Strava Routes directly to the Samsung ecosystem later this year, offering on-wrist navigation tools for users. The feature rollout is scheduled to begin globally over the coming months. Michael Martin, Chief Executive Officer at Strava, said "The Samsung Galaxy Watches are increasingly popular with the Strava community. Running Industry Alliance want Strava to be there the moment someone decides to get moving, so that athletes can capture all aspects of their active lives. "Pre-loading Strava on the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2, while also making Routes work natively through Samsung Health, means the best version of Strava is available from the first time someone puts the watch on their wrist. This upgrade is the first of many improvements Strava and Samsung users can expect in the near future." Alongside the hardware integration, Strava has introduced several platform updates designed to evolve how athletes track, understand, and share movement across training data, trail navigation, and community engagement. For training analysis, Strava has expanded its integration capabilities with third-party training platforms. Workouts logged via running training application Runna now appear directly within Strava Activity Details, displaying complete sessions from warm-up to cooldown. Strava has also introduced an artificial intelligence integration with Claude. Here, users can connect their Strava accounts to the AI assistant to query historical training data, allowing athletes to ask questions such as 'How did this month compare to last year?' or analyze how cross-training impacts running performance. For event discovery and navigation, the updated Events tab consolidates local club meetups alongside global running races, streamlining how users find upcoming events. Community features have also been updated through the addition of Club Messaging. The feature provides dedicated communication channels within clubs to share routes, photos, updates, and polls. Additionally, Strava has introduced Activity Replays, which replaces static map snapshots with animated route playback to show workout trajectories from start to finish. For gym and resistance training, strength application Befit has joined Strava's list of connected partners, enabling direct workout syncing. New editing tools allow users to add multiple exercises simultaneously and customize display parameters, such as targeted muscle maps and total weight lifted. The platform features are available immediately on the latest version of the Strava app. Photo credit: Strava Check out the Strava RIA Member profile here.

TriFundit FAQ: how per-mile charity fundraising works.

TriFundit FAQ: how per-mile charity fundraising works. Common questions about how TriFundit works, how per-mile sponsorship is billed, which fitness apps sync, and how nonprofits can run a fitness fundraiser. What is TriFundit? TriFundit is a fitness fundraising platform that turns logged miles into charitable donations. Athletes connect a fitness tracking app, pick a partnered nonprofit, and invite friends and family to sponsor them at a per-mile rate. Sponsors are billed monthly based on the miles actually completed. How do I get sponsored per mile for a charity run? Register on TriFundit, select the cause you want to support, and connect your fitness tracking app. Then invite friends and family by SMS, email, or social media to pledge an amount per mile. As you log runs, TriFundit totals your distance and charges each sponsor monthly based on your actual miles. Which fitness apps does TriFundit work with? TriFundit syncs with Strava, Garmin, Fitbit, Peloton, Google Fit, Oura, and Apple Health. Miles from running, walking, cycling, swimming, and paddle sports all count toward your fundraising total. If you use Nike Run Club or Apple Fitness, you can route your activity through Strava, Garmin, or Google Fit. How is TriFundit different from Charity Miles? Charity Miles is funded by corporate sponsors who contribute a fixed rate per mile from a capped pool, for charities on a curated list. TriFundit is funded by your own network: friends and family choose their own per-mile rate and are billed monthly based on your logged miles. Because your sponsors fund it directly, there is no sponsorship pool to run out and the amount raised scales with the size of your network. Does TriFundit cost anything to use? TriFundit is free for athletes to sign up and use. Sponsors pay only the per-mile amount they pledge, charged monthly based on miles actually logged. How do sponsors get charged? Sponsors pledge a set amount per mile rather than a lump sum. At the end of each month TriFundit totals the miles you logged, multiplies by each sponsor's pledged rate, and charges them that amount. Sponsors only pay for miles you actually complete. What activities count toward fundraising on TriFundit? Running, walking, cycling, swimming, and paddle sports all count. Any distance logged in a connected fitness app during these activities is added to your fundraising total. Can a nonprofit use TriFundit to run a fundraiser? Yes. Nonprofits can partner with TriFundit to get a dedicated page where supporters register, connect their fitness apps, and fundraise on the organization's behalf. Current partners include A21, Destiny Rescue, Operation 300, Velofree, Shifting Gears, Generation Distinct, The Network, Change a Destiny, Fort Freedom, and Not In My City. How do I turn a marathon into a fundraiser? Register on TriFundit and select your cause before you begin training. Invite sponsors to pledge per mile, then log every training run in your connected fitness app, not just race day. A 16-week marathon block typically covers 400 to 600 miles, so per-mile pledges across a full training cycle usually raise substantially more than pledges on the race alone. Is there a minimum number of miles? No. Sponsors are charged based on whatever distance you log, with no minimum threshold and no penalty for a light month.
