SoFi stock is 54% below its high after an 82% crash and 650% rebound, despite $1.2B quarterly revenue

SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) shares have fallen 54% from their high in just a few months. The stock dropped 82% once before, then rose about 650% over three years to reach that high. The online financial platform posted strong second-quarter results. Adjusted net revenue rose 40% year over year to $1.2 billion, and earnings per share rose from $0.08 to $0.12. It added 1.1 million members, up 35%, and 2.2 million products, up 42%. The market was not pleased. Sales at its Tech Platform segment kept falling after the loss of a major customer, and management raised revenue guidance but not net income guidance. The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 31. SoFi reports earnings on Tuesday.

SoFi to launch retail interest-bearing tokenized deposits.

SoFi to launch retail interest-bearing tokenized deposits. Published on 10/22/2026 at 08:16 am EDT By Dean Seal SoFi Technologies is rolling out a new product that works like a high-yield savings account for funds that can immediately be deployed for crypto purchases or transfers. The program, SoFi Earn, pays 4.4% interest on funds stored as federally insured deposits that are tokenized and instantly convertible either back into cash or into SoFi's stablecoin, which can then be used to make cryptocurrency purchases or transfer funds over the blockchain. "Your money should keep working for you until the moment you need it," Chief Executive Anthony Noto said. Previous attempts to offer yield-bearing crypto savings accounts have either collapsed during crypto crashes or been blocked by federal regulators for having hazy legal statuses. In 2021, Coinbase scrapped a yield program, called Coinbase Lend, that the Securities and Exchange Commission had deemed to be an unregistered security. The Genius Act passed by Congress last year explicitly prohibited stablecoin issuers from paying interest on holdings. SoFi's product bypasses the ban and other previous roadblocks with a two-tiered system: it accepts funds as federally insured commercial bank deposit liabilities on SoFi's balance sheet that earn interest, which can then be converted into stablecoins. To date, large institutions have built wholesale settlement networks and tokenized Treasury funds, but no national bank has offered a federally insured tokenized deposit for everyday customers. SoFi is launching the product during a marked shift in federal regulators' stance on digital assets. The SEC, which currently has just two members on its five-seat commission, has ditched the previous administration's enforcement-forward approach and instead embraced efforts to integrate crypto into the financial system. SoFi introduces national bank-issued tokenized deposit SoFi Earn.

SoFi introduces national bank-issued tokenized deposit SoFi Earn. SoFi Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:SOFI) today announced the launch of SoFi Earn (SOFIE), a national bank-issued tokenized deposit for consumers. SoFi members can now earn interest on digital dollars while keeping them ready to use, representing the company's fifth new crypto offering in less than a year. Each SOFIE represents $1 held on deposit at SoFi Bank, earning 4.40% APY with funds FDIC-insured up to applicable FDIC limits. When members are ready to put those funds to work, they can convert SOFIE 1:1 to SoFiUSD, then use the SoFiUSD to buy crypto directly in the SoFi app or move money over blockchain rails 24/7. "Too much money in the digital asset ecosystem is sitting idle, leaving massive potential earnings on the table for millions of people," said Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi. "We believe your money should keep working for you until the moment you need it. SoFi Earn combines the earning power and protections of a bank deposit with the speed and utility of digital assets, giving people more value, flexibility and control over their money." SoFi Earn is the latest in a series of launches that, in less than a year, have rapidly built out SoFi's digital money ecosystem. In November 2025, SoFi launched crypto trading for consumers, giving members the ability to buy, sell and hold crypto alongside their banking, borrowing and investing in one app. Today, members can trade more than 40 cryptocurrencies through SoFi Crypto. In December 2025, SoFi launched SoFiUSD (SOFID), extending its digital money infrastructure to 24/7 dollar movement and settlement. SoFiUSD is already being put to work through settlement of SoFi's entire card program across Mastercard's global payments network, demonstrating how blockchain-based dollars can support real-world money movement at scale. Earlier in 2026, SoFi launched Big Business Banking, giving companies a single regulated platform to manage both fiat and digital assets. Businesses can hold deposits and move money 24/7 across traditional payment rails, stablecoins and digital assets, helping clients operate seamlessly across traditional banking and the digital-asset economy. SoFi Earn is rolling out to SoFi Crypto members now through November.
