Requirements
  • An M.D. or D.O. degree is required.
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship is required.
  • Fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy is required.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced endoscopic procedures is required.
  • Extensive clinical and technical experience in Third-Space Endoscopy is required.
  • Proficiency with peroral endoscopic myotomy, gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy, endoscopic submucosal dissection, and endoscopic mucosal resection is required.
  • Extensive experience with endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is required.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform complex third-space procedures.
  • Evaluate patients referred for advanced endoscopic and third-space consultation.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Third-Space Endoscopy program.
  • Teach fellows and trainees advanced therapeutic endoscopic techniques.
  • Participate in clinical research and scholarly activity.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and other specialists.
  • Contribute to innovation in therapeutic endoscopy.
  • Provide advanced therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, third-space endoscopy, peroral endoscopic myotomy, gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and endoscopic submucosal dissection.
  • Provide multidisciplinary management of complex inpatient and outpatient advanced endoscopy, third-space endoscopy, and pancreaticobiliary patients.
  • Develop a specialized advanced endoscopy practice.
  • Teach gastroenterology fellows, advanced endoscopy fellows, medical students, and residents.
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, national and regional presentations, advanced endoscopy conferences, case conferences, and curriculum development.
  • Provide procedural education and fellow and trainee mentorship.
  • Participate in administrative and leadership roles.
  • Participate in clinical and endoscopic research, procedural innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and gastrointestinal tumor board activities.
