About the Job

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in digital ASIC/SoC design, focused on synthesis and front-end implementation.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler, Synopsys Fusion Compiler, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of static timing analysis concepts and tools such as Synopsys PrimeTime.
  • Experience with formal verification tools such as Synopsys Formality or Cadence Conformal (LEC).
  • Understanding of UPF, low-power design techniques, and power analysis concepts.
  • Solid knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog for digital design.
  • Familiarity with Tcl, Python, and Perl for automation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Perform synthesis of RTL designs for digital blocks and subsystems, including hierarchical synthesis methodologies.
  • Develop and implement timing constraints (SDC) to achieve target frequencies and optimize design performance.
  • Conduct static timing analysis, identify critical paths, and collaborate with design teams on timing closure.
  • Execute formal verification (LEC) to ensure functional equivalence between RTL and synthesized netlists.
  • Analyze and optimize power consumption at the front-end stage using power analysis tools and techniques.
  • Perform area estimation and optimization to meet chip size requirements.
  • Collaborate with RTL designers, DFT engineers, and physical design engineers to ensure integration and hand-off.
  • Develop and maintain Tcl, Python, and Perl automation scripts for synthesis flows and design analysis.
  • Evaluate and integrate CAD tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and design quality.
  • Document design constraints, methodologies, and analysis results.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of DFT (Design for Testability) principles.

About the Company

NXP Semiconductors

Automotive semiconductors and secure embedded solutions

NXP Semiconductors designs and sells semiconductor chips for vehicles and other devices. Its products include automotive-grade microcontrollers and other ICs used in engines, infotainment, safety systems, and networked car architectures. These chips process data, run software, and enable features such as advanced driver assistance and vehicle connectivity, often with strong security and real-time performance. Unlike some peers, NXP became an independent company after Philips spun off its semiconductor unit in 2006 and later merged with Freescale in 2015, building a focused strength in automotive semiconductors and microcontrollers. This gives it a clear niche in the market and the goal of growing as a standalone leader in smarter, connected vehicles and related technologies.
