The acquisition expands ESS's offerings beyond substitute teacher management to include high-dosage tutoring, paraprofessional support, and bilingual tutoring services. HeyTutor provides in-person instructional support combined with workforce management technology and student progress monitoring. The company delivers standards-aligned curriculum in maths and English language arts, alongside real-time data analytics for tracking student progress. ESS currently serves more than 1,200 school districts nationwide, reaching approximately 8 million students daily. The acquisition strengthens ESS's presence in California whilst enabling HeyTutor to expand across ESS's established network. Jennifer Sheffield, HeyTutor's chief executive officer, will continue leading the business. Financial terms were not disclosed.
