About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent, including experience shipping production systems.
  • Direct experience on an Applied AI or product AI team building large-language-model or machine-learning-powered features; experience with agents or tooling is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated judgment in agent-driven development, including deciding what to delegate, appropriately scoping agent context, and verifying agent output before trusting it.
  • Strong backend and system design skills, including application programming interfaces, distributed systems, queues and workflows, observability, and performance.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and driving outcomes with cross-functional product, design, data and machine-learning, and platform partners.
  • A track record of mentoring peers and improving engineering quality, including helping others develop critical judgment around AI-assisted output.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement agent-platform primitives such as orchestration, tool and function calling, evaluation harnesses, prompt and version management, tracing and observability, and safety guardrails.
  • Support retrieval-augmented generation, structured extraction, and production inference workflows.
  • Work with application engineering teams to embed AI into engineering workflows, including code-review assistance, test generation, incident support, and developer copilots, with quality gates and measurable impact.
  • Determine which work should be delegated to agents versus retained as human work, scope tasks so agents can succeed, and adapt that boundary as team skills and tooling maturity change.
  • Diagnose agent runs from their traces, including inputs, intermediate steps, and failure points, similarly to debugging a distributed system.
  • Verify AI-generated output, including tests written by an agent, rather than treating output as inherently trustworthy.
  • Own projects from prototype through production, including data needs, system design, model and vendor selection, rollout plans, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Partner with product, design, and data and machine-learning stakeholders to deliver customer-facing outcomes.
  • Assess AI adoption across teams, identify bottlenecks and failure modes, and diagnose organization-wide adoption gaps.
  • Build missing capabilities, teach existing capabilities, and advocate for adoption among engineers.
  • Establish engineering practices for reliability, evaluation, incident response, privacy, security, and AI development.
  • Coach engineers through design reviews, pairing, and technical leadership, including critical review of AI-generated code.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building platform capabilities for other engineers, such as software development kits, internal frameworks, or developer tooling.
  • Practical experience with embeddings, search and retrieval, evaluation methodologies, and offline and online model monitoring.
  • Experience building AI-powered tooling or products such as agents and assistants at scale.
  • Familiarity with inference constraints including latency, cost, and caching, as well as vendor and model tradeoffs and deployment patterns.

About the company

PrizePicks runs a daily fantasy sports platform that lets users bet on how well athletes will perform. Users choose 2 to 5 players and decide if each will exceed or fall short of a set benchmark. If most predictions are correct, they can win up to 10 times their entry fee. The platform operates in the United States and Canada, though some states are restricted due to regulations, and it makes money from entry fees on real-money games. What sets PrizePicks apart is its focus on over/under predictions rather than traditional fantasy lineups, offering high multipliers and a straightforward betting style. The company aims to give sports fans an easy way to engage with games and monetize their athlete performance predictions.

Allwyn's PrizePicks acquisition adds $261M in Q2 revenue, up 27% YoY

Allwyn reported 27% revenue growth to €1.2bn in Q2 2026, driven largely by its acquisition of daily fantasy sports platform PrizePicks, which contributed €231m in additional revenue. The company's EBITDA rose 29% to €458m, whilst profits after tax increased 35% to €239m. Sports betting and iGaming emerged as key growth drivers, benefiting from the FIFA World Cup. North American revenue jumped to €294m from €54m, almost entirely due to PrizePicks integration. Continental Europe remained Allwyn's largest market at €731m revenue, up 4%. However, lottery revenue declined 2% to €498m, despite Allwyn positioning itself as a lottery-led entertainment business. The company recently launched Powerball in the UK to boost lottery sales. Chief executive Robert Chvatal said results reflect "the strength of our strategy", with Allwyn expecting to close 2026 with net revenue growth in the mid-to-high 20% range.

Allwyn lists 22% of shares on Athens stock exchange after OPAP merger

Allwyn, the international gaming group from Karel Komárek's KKCG empire, has listed on the Athens Stock Exchange following its March merger with Greek firm OPAP. The combined entity, Allwyn AG, is now the world's second-largest publicly traded lottery and gaming group, with approximately 22% of shares in free float. The listing follows KKCG's long-term strategy of building an international lottery platform since acquiring Sazka in 2011. Allwyn now operates across Greece, Austria, Croatia, Italy, the UK and the US. Recent expansions include a $1.6 billion acquisition of 62% of PrizePicks in January and obtaining the UK National Lottery licence in 2022. In 2025, Allwyn reported preliminary net revenues of €4.1 billion, a 4% year-on-year increase, with adjusted EBITDA of €1.58 billion.

Allwyn abandons $245M Novibet acquisition following Greek regulator objections

Lottery giant Allwyn has abandoned its planned acquisition of a 51% stake in Novibet following objections from the Hellenic Competition Commission. The transaction, valued at €217 million, was first announced in December 2024. Allwyn and Novibet owner Logflex MT Holding Limited terminated the deal after the HCC raised concerns about restricted competition in Greece's online gaming market. Allwyn already controls over 50% of the Greek market through its stake in OPAP, which operates the Pamestoixima and Stoixman brands. Objectors argued Allwyn was seeking to acquire the only competitor capable of competing on equal terms in Greece. Despite the setback, Allwyn continues expanding elsewhere, recently completing a $1.6 billion majority acquisition of PrizePicks in the US and advancing a merger with OPAP.
