Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant training program is required.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • Experience using an electronic medical record is required.
  • The candidate must be able to assist with common medical and medical office procedures.
  • The candidate must maintain confidentiality and security of patient and organizational information.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple responsibilities and work effectively independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients, schedule appointments, answer phones, and support daily medical office operations.
  • Review patient charts to identify care gaps and help ensure providers have the information needed for each visit.
  • Obtain outside medical records and gather required patient paperwork and documentation.
  • Room patients and prepare them for appointments.
  • Perform screenings, obtain vital signs, and gather patient health histories.
  • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Administer, evaluate, and document point-of-care waived tests with structured guidance and oversight.
  • Perform and document phlebotomy services.
  • Assist providers with medical examinations and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful care and customer service to patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
