About the Job

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on MEMS or semiconductor devices, taking them from development to production on schedule.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processing and integration, specifically in MEMS product development.
  • A solid background in materials science, chemistry, and fabrication systems.
  • Proficiency in project management, JMP, Spotfire, and other data-analysis tools.
  • Ability to plan effectively, drive schedules, meet critical deadlines across multiple parallel tasks, lead technical discussions, communicate project status and actions clearly, interface with multiple organizations, and work effectively on diverse teams.
  • Ability to drive process and device improvements through characterization, testing, design of experiments, data analysis, and simulation.
  • Ability to work with process, integration, reliability, packaging, and test engineers to achieve development goals.
  • Ability to identify and optimize resonator performance to meet critical final device parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4–5 engineers performing unit process development and loop development across multiple fabrication facilities.
  • Define the MEMS and sensor process engineering roadmap and work with vendors and external foundries to identify alternate pathways supporting program goals and priorities.
  • Manage process-development and silicon tasks, develop integrated loops, and ensure processes meet program goals and requirements with high-volume manufacturability in mind.
  • Work across organizations, fabrication facilities, and resources to deliver robust processes supporting advanced technology development MEMS and sensor roadmaps.
  • Work with the MEMS and sensing roadmap team to enable new technologies from early feasibility studies through production qualification and ramp.
  • Drive process and device improvements through characterization, testing, design of experiments, data analysis, and simulation.
  • Work with process, integration, reliability, packaging, and test engineers to achieve process and device development goals.
  • Work closely with product groups to identify and optimize resonator performance to meet critical final device parameters.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MEMS packaging and back-end integration.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.

About the Company

Texas Instruments

Makes analog and embedded chips in its own plants

Texas Instruments designs and makes analog and embedded processing chips, the basic parts inside cars, factory equipment, data centers, and consumer electronics, and it sells one of the broadest chip catalogs in the industry. In 1958, its engineer Jack Kilby built the first integrated circuit, the building block of modern electronics, and later won a Nobel Prize for it. Its analog chips regulate power and convert signals such as sound and heat into data, while its microcontrollers act as small built-in computers, and TI earns money selling both to device makers. It also makes the graphing calculators many students use in math class. Texas Instruments was founded in 1930 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
