About the company

On Me Gifting is a digital platform that creates personalized gift cards built around hobbies and interests. It partners with top brands so recipients can redeem the card at multiple retailers, either in-store or online. The card itself represents a specific hobby and lets the recipient choose among brands within that category. The product works by users selecting a card tied to a hobby, and recipients redeeming it at partner brands through the platform. Revenue comes from commissions earned from brands and from premium customization options for corporate gifts. On Me differentiates itself by offering category-specific cards with flexible brand redemption and strong customization for businesses, letting users and companies tailor gifts to individual tastes. The company’s goal is to improve the gifting experience by providing flexible, brand-diverse options that empower recipients to pick their preferred brand within a given hobby category.

On Me raises $1.7M to disrupt gift cards

Mastercard-backed startup On Me aims to disrupt the $200 billion U.S. gift card market, currently dominated by Blackhawk and InComm. Founded by ex-Google employees Darragh Meaney and Sitar Harel, On Me has raised $2 million from Mastercard and Lerer Hippeau. The startup plans to introduce a digital-first gift card that can be used across various stores and integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay, challenging the traditional single-merchant gift card model.
