Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience performing service repairs is required.
  • The ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment while following Technical Manual procedures is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used to repair turf equipment is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of selling techniques is required.
  • The ability to use Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer functions is required.
  • The ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A driving record that meets the employer’s insurance company requirements is required.
  • The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to perform duties involving sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Responsibilities
  • Perform mobile pre-delivery inspections and on-site equipment diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance in accordance with turf service programs.
  • Perform a high level of on-site service on all makes of turf equipment.
  • Actively promote and sell dealership-specific mobile service programs directly to customers.
  • Coordinate with the Location Service Manager and Service Writer to establish and implement effective processes for turf services offered through dealership-specific service programs.
  • Review and explain maintenance, repair, and other service concerns directly with customers, and document them on work orders.
  • Establish and implement effective stocking processes with the Parts department to maintain proper seasonal parts inventory in the service vehicle.
  • Participate in required service training programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Properly operate and maintain the mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
  • Support and promote the Ready-To-Mow program as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Basic Service Technician certification is preferred.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License and forklift license are preferred.
