  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong current Kubernetes experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Google Kubernetes Engine, or an equivalent platform, including debugging pods, writing Helm charts, and reasoning about networking and resource limits.
  • Production proficiency in Terraform as the primary infrastructure-as-code tool, with experience refactoring infrastructure as code across accounts, projects, or regions.
  • Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python for automation, migration tooling, and operators.
  • Solid continuous integration and continuous delivery experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Flux, or Harness, including redesigning pipelines.

  • Ability to communicate clearly through migration plans, requests for comments, and runbooks.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make pragmatic paved-road tradeoffs.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering leads at two to three assigned acquired companies to inventory services, dependencies, and cloud-service-provider-specific infrastructure footprints.

  • Rewrite Terraform or Terragrunt modules to target CP2 when needed.
  • Port continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and replace cloud-provider-locked services with CP2 equivalents.
  • Re-instrument observability, including logs, metrics, traces, and service-level objectives, to Workday standards.
  • Identify gaps in the CP2 paved road and provide technically specific feature requests to infrastructure platform engineering teams.
  • Establish repeatable migration patterns and a playbook for future acquisition onboarding.
  • Participate in Architecture Review Boards, distinguish hard blockers from soft blockers, and help drive consensus across infrastructure platform engineering and acquisition teams.
  • Work hands-on with acquired company engineering teams to plan, implement, and execute migrations to CP2.
  • Own technical delta analysis for assigned acquisitions, design migration approaches, and write the code, infrastructure as code, and automation required to move services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Multi-cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
  • Familiarity with secrets management, least-privilege identity and access management, vulnerability scanning, image signing, and mutual Transport Layer Security.
  • Experience with security auditing and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Terragrunt.

Commutifi launches AI agents to manage the $1T commuting category inside Workday

Commutifi launched two products on October 13, 2026: the Commutifi MCP, which links its platform to AI tools companies already use, and the Workday Commute Agent Suite, built on it. Together they bring commute management into Workday, where users can run programs by asking Workday's Sana, Claude, or ChatGPT. Commuting is a $1 trillion category in the US, yet less than 1% of commute data reaches Workday. The suite pulls parking, transit, shuttle, vanpool, and benefits data into one system alongside existing employee and location data. Specialist agents compare commute options, assess parking leases, and trace costs to contracts. Each agent acts only within the user's permissions, and nothing is booked or spent without explicit approval. Workday is testing the suite at its Boulder, Colorado office. Both products are in early access, with general availability within the month.

Workday's Aneel Bhusri returns as CEO to fight AI disruption after $1B Sana deal

Workday has brought back cofounder Aneel Bhusri as chief executive officer, as the software maker faces pressure from artificial intelligence (AI). He returned in February after co-chief Carl Eschenbach left, having stepped back in 2024. Revenue grew 13% in the latest fiscal year, its slowest pace in years, and the company has had several rounds of layoffs. Its shares have swung between $300 and $112, and activist investor Elliott Management holds a $2 billion stake. Workday bought Swedish AI startup Sana for more than $1 billion six months ago. In August, reports said it was in talks with private equity firm Silver Lake about going private; shares rose about 18%. Bhusri says he came back "for the long run," not to sell.

Workday Candidate Profile lets job seekers save details once, applying 40% faster

Workday announced Workday Candidate Profile at its Rising 2026 event in Las Vegas on October 13, 2026. The tool lets job seekers save their information once and reuse it when applying to the thousands of companies that hire through Workday. Applicants sign in with an email and a one-time code, with no new password. About 80% of standard fields will be pre-filled, which Workday expects to make applying about 40% faster. Candidates can edit entries and choose what each employer sees. Workday says 60% of candidates abandon applications because of length and friction. The tool does not rank, recommend, or reject anyone, and employers need not change how they hire. It is expected to reach Workday Recruiting customers in early calendar year 2027.

Workday makes Sana its new home screen, an AI agent that completes HR, finance and IT tasks

Workday has made Sana its new Workday Home, an AI experience that gathers tasks, decisions, meetings, and agent activity in one place. Announced at Workday Rising in Las Vegas on October 13, 2026, it lets employees ask for what they need in plain language while Sana directs Workday's agents to do the work. Sana can act, not just answer: approve an expense, process a leave request, or reset a password. Every action follows a company's existing rules, with people brought in when approval or judgment is needed. Workday also introduced Sana Concierge, an HR and IT service agent that resolves requests such as onboarding, leave, and password resets before they become tickets. The new Home is available now. Concierge is open to early adopters and is expected to reach general availability in the first quarter of 2027.

Workday launches Work Intelligence to map AI's impact on tasks and skills, building on 75,000 skills

Workday launched Work Intelligence on October 13, 2026, a tool that shows companies how AI is changing the tasks inside each job and which skills staff will need next. It breaks jobs into tasks and links those tasks to skills. The tool draws on Workday Skills Cloud, which more than 3,450 customers use. It is built on an ontology of more than 75,000 canonical skills. Work Intelligence works with Workday Decision Intelligence to show which employees hold adjacent skills, and with Workday Learning powered by Sana to suggest personalised learning paths. Leaders can also measure how AI affects tasks, time use, and roles. Neither tool makes decisions about people. "The basic building block of work is shifting from the job to the task," said Nikki Helmer, vice president, talent management and insights, at Workday. It is available now to early access Workday Human Capital Management customers.
