Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement employee engagement initiatives promoting physical activity, healthy weight management, mindfulness and stress reduction, tobacco cessation, and other healthy-lifestyle activities that reduce health risks.
  • Coordinate and lead group engagement sessions, including safety talks, stretch-and-flex programs, lunch-and-learns, seminars, and presentations.
  • Conduct blood pressure biometric screenings and body-composition testing events, and coach employees on results to support sustainable lifestyle changes and reduced health risks.
  • Promote safety awareness and injury prevention, and refer employees to employer health and safety resources.
  • Maintain whole-population engagement by understanding client initiatives, safety and wellbeing needs, and available benefit resources.
  • Educate employees about client resources and benefits and help them access resources aligned with their interests, needs, and goals.
  • Follow a proactive monthly engagement plan using the client-site service delivery calendar and the Wellness Coaches resource library.
  • Coordinate with client human resources, benefits, and safety teams to integrate wellness and injury-prevention initiatives into the client culture and benefits package.
  • Engage employees along the transtheoretical model stages of change to support behavior change and improved health and wellbeing.
  • Conduct proactive site walks or rounds to maintain visibility and accessibility among employees.
  • Promote health awareness, mental wellbeing, and body mindfulness; identify employees’ interests and provide individual coaching and resources for sustainable improvement in physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Offer individual blood pressure checks and body-composition testing and conduct person-centered coaching based on results.
  • Conduct individual health consultations, identify employees’ interests, goals, and internal motivators, and develop personalized health-improvement plans.
  • Monitor employee health and behavior progress, review data, and adjust coaching strategies to meet behavior and health-risk reduction standards.
  • Provide resources from the Wellness Coaches library and other evidence-based sources aligned with employees’ health interests and goals.
  • Provide referral coaching and resources within professional scope-of-practice boundaries and the company’s referral protocols.
  • Engage employees in monthly health and safety topics using activities and questions that encourage reflection, behavior activation, and health behavior change.
  • Follow up with employees to strengthen engagement and increase the frequency and impact of coaching interactions.
  • Conduct daily site walks or rounds to engage employees in mindful and safe work practices.
  • Coach employees on body awareness and mindfulness, identify areas of concern that may lead to musculoskeletal injury, and provide resources for self-management, injury prevention, or referral.
  • Identify and address individual safety and musculoskeletal risks through employee engagement, education, demonstrations, and follow-up.
  • Coach employees on applying continuous-learning principles to improve workplace safety and reduce injury risk.
  • Follow up with employees to strengthen engagement and improve injury-prevention and safety outcomes.
  • Enter data accurately and promptly to document coaching activities and employee consultations while protecting health information privacy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and client-site vendors on coordinated workplace safety and injury-prevention efforts.
  • Complete additional client-site paperwork, documentation, and reporting promptly and accurately.
  • Arrive at and leave the client site according to the agreed schedule and promptly communicate schedule changes to the site contact and operations manager.
  • Remain accessible and visible for at least 80% of the day to maximize employee engagement and coaching.
  • Learn and follow client-site emergency and safety protocols to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Manage time effectively and work independently to deliver onsite services.
  • Complete Wellness Coaches and client-site data entry by the end of each business day in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of coaching activities, employee engagement, and related information for client and manager communications and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality, follow company policies and procedures, and comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
  • Attend required team and operations-manager meetings.
  • Attend and participate in four mandatory live skill-building sessions each year, or coordinate timely completion of training recordings and exams with the operations manager.
  • Complete additional Wellness Coaches training promptly to improve skills and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with site contacts, operations managers, and Wellness Coaches team members.
  • Collaborate with the operations manager, site contact, and onsite partners to meet client needs and goals.
  • Maintain, clean, and store Wellness Coaches equipment and materials according to company guidelines.
  • Represent the company professionally in written and verbal communications and when working with onsite partners and vendors.
  • Interact positively, courteously, and respectfully with employees, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Wellness Coaches and interdisciplinary team members to deliver measurable outcomes in risk-factor reduction and chronic-disease prevention and management.
  • Promptly and professionally report job-related concerns, site-contact communications, onsite incidents, and delivery concerns to the operations manager.
  • Maintain familiarity with Wellness Coaches products and provider services, including technology, referral processes, nutrition, and clinical services.
Desired Qualifications
  • A strong background in injury prevention, especially in construction, manufacturing, or transportation settings.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in health sciences or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in health and wellness, wellness coaching, fitness, personal training, athletic training, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or physical therapist assistance.
  • At least one year of health and wellness coaching experience or equivalent person-centered experience in fitness, nutrition, or health promotion.
  • Experience using behavior-change science, including Stages of Change and motivational interviewing, to support sustainable health behavior change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR), SOAP, and ADIM data entry.
  • Experience taking manual blood pressure.
