Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in biology, medical technology, laboratory science, or an equivalent scientific field is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a clinical or research laboratory or an equivalent Good Manufacturing Practice or Good Laboratory Practice setting is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Process, store, and prepare hematopoietic stem cells, donor lymphocytes, immune effector cells, and other cellular therapy products for infusion in support of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.
  • Train in and maintain competency in immune cell analysis via flow cytometry, plasma and red blood cell reductions, cell selections, cell expansions, cryopreservation, thawing, and quality-control testing for product release.
  • Receive, handle, store, transport, and administer externally manufactured products.
  • Manufacture novel cellular therapy products, including chimeric antigen receptor T-cell, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte, and mesenchymal stem cell products, for investigator-initiated clinical trials.
  • Develop and implement new research protocols, laboratory standard operating procedures, and validation assays in collaboration with physicians and investigators.
  • Maintain patient records according to Good Documentation Practices in paper records and computer databases.
  • Perform environmental monitoring of laboratory spaces, equipment, and supplies.
  • Participate in on-call service and respond to alarm notifications regarding patient sample storage.
  • Interact with patients, physicians, nursing staff, quality assurance staff, and administrative teams.
  • Work consistently with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in accordance with hospital core values.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with tissue culture techniques, flow cytometry, and/or molecular biological assays.
