Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • One year of credit analyst experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is required.
  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered if it provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties.
Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze the financial condition and risk of financing requests within the Bank’s credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Gather data from customers and internal and external sources; prepare spreadsheets and analyze financial information, including financial statements and tax returns; and obtain additional information and clarification.
  • Compile data from credit bureaus, conduct industry peer comparisons, and perform cash flow analyses and related comparisons.
  • Obtain sufficient information and documentation from bankers.
  • Verify collateral and lien position.
  • Communicate with Agricultural and Commercial Bankers when working credits, spreads, and ticklers.
  • Work with other departments to process and service loans.
  • Develop knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors, and competition.
  • Represent the Bank in community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.
  • Update and correspond with the Special Assets Department on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure appropriate precautionary actions are taken.
  • Comply with Bank policies, procedures, processes, applicable state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations, including position-specific Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities.
  • Perform annual reviews of the credit portfolio to establish trends and ensure proper risk rating.
  • Compile credit action presentations with accurate financial data and detailed narratives to support the credit decisioning process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
