Careem's biggest delivery ever in Dubai is one you need to see.

Careem's biggest delivery ever in Dubai is one you need to see. 15th October 2026 Sponsored: One very big order. A delivery to match. Dubai has seen some pretty impressive deliveries, but Careem just took things to another level. Last week, a whopping 690kg block of ice made its way to Atlantis Aquaventure in an electric van, marking the heaviest order ever delivered through the app. And it all started with a little back-and-forth on Instagram. It all started with an ice order. Over the summer, Careem introduced giant blocks of ice on its app to help Dubai residents cool down their swimming pools. Dubai-based content creator Mo Vlogs decided to take things a little further and ordered every single block available. When he shared the purchase on social media, Atlantis Aquaventure joined the conversation, asking Careem whether it could help cool down its pool, too. There was just one small detail: Aquaventure holds a staggering 23 million litres of water. Then things got interesting. Car manufacturer Farizon Auto spotted the exchange and offered to help with the delivery. A few days later, a Farizon SV electric chiller van pulled up at Atlantis Aquaventure carrying a whopping 690kg block of ice. The delivery officially became the heaviest order in Careem's history, turning a playful social media exchange into a rather unusual arrival at one of Dubai's best-known waterparks. So, can you actually order giant ice blocks on Careem? Surprisingly, yes. Careem added the oversized ice blocks to its app over the summer as a way for residents to tackle the heat in their private pools. The app is already known for everything from rides and restaurant deliveries to groceries and payments, but a delivery weighing almost three-quarters of a tonne is certainly a new one. As for whether 690kg of ice could make much difference to 23 million litres of water? Whatson'd love to see that experiment. And if you're wondering what else you can get delivered, there's always the Careem app. Although Whatson is not sure how you'd top a 690kg block of ice. Careem has your (cash) back, even when you order from other food delivery platforms.

Careem has your (cash) back, even when you order from other food delivery platforms. Careem is launching 20% cashback on food orders in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, with a twist. Careem boosts its growth in the region with revenues of $241 million in the first half

Careem boosts its growth in the region with revenues of $241 million in the first half The revenue of "Careem Technologies" grew by 20% during the first half of 2026, indicating the expansion of the super app's business and the increasing demand for its digital services in the region. Careem app provides food and grocery delivery, digital payments, and courier services (Careem website) "Careem Technologies", the operator of Careem's super app and based in Dubai, continued to strengthen its presence in the digital services sector, with its revenue rising by 20% year-on-year during the first half of 2026, reaching 884 million dirhams ($241 million). The revenue growth reflects the expansion of the service base provided by the Careem app, which has evolved over the past years from a platform specialized in mobility services to a super app offering a wide range of daily services to users. The "super app" model expands The Careem app brings together under one platform a set of services, including food and grocery delivery, digital payments, and courier services, along with a range of other consumer-oriented services. This model gives the company a growing presence in digital economy sectors, leveraging Careem's user base to expand the range of services offered through the app. Investments and partnerships boost growth Careem's business growth comes in the context of investment expansion and strategic partnerships that have strengthened the company's position in the technology and digital services market in the region. In 2023, Emirates Telecommunications Group "e&" acquired a 50.03% stake in Careem Technologies for $400 million, in a deal that reflected the attractiveness of the technology and digital services sector in which the company operates. In June 2025, Uber raised its stake in Careem Technologies to 62.47%, after agreeing to buy a 12.5% stake from e& for $100 million, while the Emirati group retained a 37.53% stake. From Dubai to a regional digital platform Careem was founded in Dubai in 2012 as a platform for hailing taxis, before Uber acquired it in 2020 in a deal worth $3.1 billion. Since its founding, the company has succeeded in expanding its business model, transforming from a company specialized in mobility services to a multi-service digital platform targeting users' daily needs. The original founders Mudassir Sheikha and Magnus Olsson still lead the company, which continues to develop the "super app" model and strengthen its presence in the digital services economy in the region. The revenue growth during the first half of 2026 highlights Careem's ability to expand its business and capitalize on the growing demand for digital services, while its service diversification strengthens its position as one of the most prominent technology platforms originating from Dubai.

This will support the regulation of gardening services, enhance security and public safety, and contribute to a safe residential environment. Meanwhile, the GDRFA will be in charge of providing guidance on visa and permit requirements for gardening professionals, in order to avoid any irregular practices and promote legal compliance. Dubai Municipality on the other hand will ensure sustainable gardening practices are observed throughout these neighbourhoods with its training and awareness programmes. How does it work?
