Asda and Rokt partner to bring ai-powered, relevant offers to customers at checkout.

Asda and Rokt partner to bring ai-powered, relevant offers to customers at checkout. Oct 08, 2026, 11:59 ET UK grocer expands partnership with Rokt, more than doubling checkout revenue for its clothing and home brand George LONDON, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Asda, one of the UK's largest grocers, and Rokt, the leading ecommerce company using machine learning to make the shopping experience more relevant to each customer, today announced a partnership to deliver relevant offers to Asda's customers at checkout across its online grocery business and George, its clothing and home brand. Using Rokt Pay+ on the payment page and Rokt Thanks on the order confirmation page, Asda has created a new retail media revenue stream at the point of purchase, while customer conversion remains unchanged. Rokt uses AI to determine the most relevant next action for each customer in real time on both the payments and confirmation pages, giving Asda a way to generate incremental revenue without adding friction to the purchase. "Checkout is a critical part of the customer journey, so we were deliberate about how we approached it," said Chris Chalmers, Vice President Customer Data and Loyalty at Asda. "The results show we can make that experience more relevant for customers while creating meaningful new value for the business." Asda first launched Rokt Thanks on George's order confirmation page in January 2025. The company added Rokt Pay+ to the payment page and then expanded both products across its online grocery business. The results include: * Rokt revenue on George more than doubled after Rokt Pay+ was added. Pay+ now makes up 51% of Rokt revenue on George, and 36% across Grocery and George. * Rokt revenue on Asda's grocery business grew 72% year on year, based on a 30-day comparison. * Customer conversion (uCCr) were unaffected across both businesses. "The payment page is one of the highest-intent moments in ecommerce, but historically it's been largely untapped," said Courtney Hopkins, SVP of Strategic Partnerships at Rokt. "Asda is showing that retailers can improve the experience for customers, thereby creating meaningful incremental value in that moment. We look forward to continuing to innovate and grow the partnership to unlock even greater relevance throughout the e-commerce journey and potentially even customer acquisition." Rokt's trusted, scaled network is expected to power more than 13 billion transactions in 2026 across thousands of leading ecommerce businesses. In 2025, Rokt generated more than $800 million in revenue. The announcement follows recent Rokt partnership announcements with PayPal, Fanatics, Ulta Beauty, Cineplex, Albertsons and Macy's, as well as its acquisitions of Canal, mParticle and Aftersell. About Asda Asda is a diversified retail group serving circa 16m customers each week from over 1,200 UK locations and online. Asda recall issued as supermarket apologises to shoppers.

Asda recall issued as supermarket apologises to shoppers. Asda has recalled its Kidz Pop Up Bear Tent over fears children could become trapped by the zip closure, offering full refunds to shoppers. (Image: PA) Asda shoppers across the UK have been urged to stop using a children's play tent immediately. The supermarket giant has recalled the item and apologised to customers after discovering a potential safety hazard. Safety inspectors discovered that the ASDA Kidz Pop Up Bear Tent presents an entrapment risk. Regulators found the zip closure may allow a user to become trapped during use. Officials confirmed the item does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. Designed with a bear face and paws, the pop-up tent was sold on sale for £8.40, reduced from its regular price of £18.00. Affected units carry the barcode 5063717171192 and the product code 506371717119.2026. Trading Standards logged the case under notification number 2609-0244. In an official notice, Asda said: "The product is found to be non-compliant with relevant toy safety regulations and can pose a risk of entrapment due to the zip closure. "If you have purchased the Kidz Pop Up Tent - Bear (Barcode: 5063717171192, Product Code: 506371717119.2026), please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. "You do not need your receipt." The supermarket apologised for "any inconvenience caused" and directed customers with questions to Asda Customer Relations on 0330 053 0111. Parents and carers have been warned to act without delay. The Office for Product Safety and Standards recommends consumers stop using the products immediately and keep them out of reach of children.

Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's shoppers warned over recalls.

Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's shoppers warned over recalls. Shoppers face fresh warnings after mugs, bags and baby sleeping items were pulled from sale. Retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Argos and Asda have recalled products this week alongside an urgent alert from safety regulators. This comes after earlier product warnings were issued across UK supermarkets for items ranging from skincare to garden tools. UK supermarket rankings in 2026 Tesco recall. Tesco has urged customers to stop using its F&F Home Glass Latte Mug because of a manufacturing fault. (Image: Archive) The defect means the glass is prone to breaking during normal use, posing a risk of injury to users. All batches of the mug purchased between September 2025 and August 2026 are affected by the notice. Customers can return the mug to any Tesco store for a full refund without needing a receipt. A statement from Tesco said: "As a precautionary measure, Tesco is recalling all batches of its F&F Home Glass Latte Mug purchased between September 2025 to August 2026 inclusive. "This is due to a manufacturing issue that may cause the glass mug to break during normal use, posing a risk of injury. "If you have purchased the product affected, please do not use it and instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund." Tesco added that no other products are affected and directed shoppers in Ireland to customer services on 1800 248 123. Sainsbury's and Argos recall. Sainsbury's and Argos have recalled three tote bags from the Tu clothing range over chemical safety risks. Testing found the items contained excessive concentrations of phthalates, which are compounds used to soften plastics that can cause reproductive harm. The recalled items are the Tu Pu Tan Curved Top Shopper with item number 147160412, the Tu Black Croc Winged Tote Bag with item number 147166081, and the Tu Brown Belt Handled Core Shopper with item number 147789704. Sold at selected Sainsbury's supermarkets as well as through the Tu and Argos websites, the bags failed retailer safety standards. A spokesperson for Sainsbury's said: "Sainsbury's are recalling the above products due to excessive concentrations of phthalates, which pose a chemical safety risk. "Prolonged exposure to phthalates may be harmful to human health. "As a result, the products don't meet Sainsbury's safety requirements. "We're asking customers who have purchased any of these items to stop using them and return them to their local Sainsbury's store for a full refund." Shoppers can contact Sainsbury's on 0800 028 8303 or Argos customer services on 0800 011 3462. Asda recall. Asda has issued a voluntary recall for a ladies bag after chemical testing found excessive phthalate levels. (Image: Google Street View) The affected item is the Front Pocket XBody Bag carrying product code 1100265415001. Regulatory limits apply to phthalates such as Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate because prolonged exposure can pose health risks and damage reproductive systems. No safety incidents have been reported, but the supermarket stated the recall was initiated as a precautionary step. An Asda statement said: "While no safety incidents have been reported, we are taking this action to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and to maintain our commitment to consumer safety. "If you have purchased this bag, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. "You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused." Customers with questions can contact Asda Customer Relations on 0330 053 0111. Urgent alert on baby sleeping bags. Parents and carers have been told to stop using baby sleeping bags that feature hoods or lack armholes. The Office for Product Safety and Standards issued the product safety alert on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Without armholes, infants can slip completely inside the bag where fabric covers their face, while hoods can slide over airways and cause overheating. Officials confirmed these design flaws create severe hazards of suffocation, fatal injury and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Nearly 50 product recalls and safety notices have been issued across the UK for baby sleeping bags since 2023. Baby sleeping bags complying with voluntary British standard BS EN 16781:2018 remain safe to use and are exempt from the notice. Outside pramsuits, footmuffs and specific swaddling products are also excluded from the alert. Consumers who bought an unsafe sleeping bag marketed for unsupervised cot sleep can seek redress from the seller under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. What is a product recall? When a problem is discovered with an item, products can either be withdrawn from shelves or recalled from buyers. A withdrawal removes stock from retail display, while a recall asks customers who already purchased the item to return it. The Food Standards Agency monitors food safety alerts, while the Office for Product Safety and Standards oversees consumer product safety notices across the UK. Retailers display point-of-sale notices in stores and publish recall guidance online explaining why products have been removed. Anyone who has purchased a recalled product should stop using it immediately and follow the retailer's instructions to claim a full refund.
