About the job

Requirements
  • 10+ years of product management experience in consumer technology, with significant experience in Trust & Safety, integrity, or a closely adjacent domain such as marketplace, rideshare, gaming, social, or fintech.
  • A proven track record of building, developing, and scaling high-performing product teams, with a clear point of view on talent, culture, and how people do their best work.
  • Demonstrated success leading horizontal, platform, or multi-brand product work by building capabilities that serve many teams, not a single product surface.
  • Hands-on fluency with artificial intelligence and machine learning in a product context, including understanding their possibilities and guardrails and applying them responsibly.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous, fast-moving problems such as regulatory change, emerging abuse, and shifting threat models into clear product strategy with measurable user and business outcomes.
  • Ability to align brand and central stakeholders and deliver results through influence without relying on direct authority over every team.
  • Deep user empathy and consumer-centric thinking, recognizing safety as a felt experience as well as a backend function.
Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the long-term Trust & Safety product strategy for Tinder, multiple other Match Group brands, and portfolio-wide central safety infrastructure in collaboration with brand teams and stakeholders.
  • Use user research and customer focus to decide what gets built, in what order, and why; prioritize across the portfolio to build scalable, reusable solutions.
  • Set direction for proactive and felt safety, intervening before harm occurs and making protections legible to users.
  • Represent Match Group and its safety efforts externally and communicate the work through a clear public narrative.
  • Build, grow, and lead a high-performing central team of product managers across core safety workstreams.
  • Lead through a matrix by partnering with brand product, design, and engineering teams, and create working agreements, clarity, and influence that make the model effective.
  • Build a culture of high standards, end-to-end ownership, and candor.
  • Make portfolio-level build-versus-buy and vendor decisions about shared infrastructure and brand-specific solutions.
  • Identify capabilities being solved repeatedly across brands and consolidate them into shared services that every brand can adopt.
  • Concentrate investment behind high-leverage initiatives and increase development velocity on funded work.
  • Champion responsible applications of artificial intelligence across safety, including machine learning, large language models, and emerging tooling, to improve detection and moderation quality, reduce reviewer load, and lower user friction.
  • Drive AI-enabled development across functions, including building tools and systems and enabling Trust & Safety colleagues to use agentic coding tools and emerging technologies.
  • Deliver AI-augmented moderation and care at scale without increasing costs linearly with volume.
  • Maintain guardrails for accuracy, fairness, privacy, and explainability.
  • Translate global regulatory developments, including the EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, Australia's Online Safety Act, and emerging age-assurance requirements, into product strategy.
  • Build safety and compliance into products by design and ensure obligations are met consistently across brands and jurisdictions.
  • Partner at executive level with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Policy, Operations, and brand product leadership to align priorities and remove obstacles.
  • Surface and resolve tradeoffs between brand-local incentives and portfolio integrity priorities, making defensible decisions that weigh both.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating across a multi-brand portfolio or integrating products following an acquisition.
  • Familiarity with non-US safety regulations and cross-jurisdictional compliance.
  • Familiarity with Trust & Safety operations, case management, and moderation workflows, and experience translating policy into product.
  • Experience partnering with artificial intelligence and machine learning teams on detection, classification, or generative artificial intelligence risk mitigation.

Tinder partners with Sam Altman's World for eye-scan verification to combat AI-driven romance scams

Tinder is partnering with World, formerly Worldcoin, to use eye-scanning technology to verify users are human amid rising concerns over AI-powered romance scams. Romance scammers netted over $300 million in 2020, according to the company. World, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, uses a spherical device called "the Orb" to verify humanness through temporary memory that isn't stored. Following verification, users receive a badge proving they're real, which Tinder says will lead to higher-quality connections. Verified users will also receive five free "Boosts" for a limited time. The verification system launched as a pilot in Japan through Tinder's parent company Match Group and will expand to US users. Other companies adopting World's "proof of human" technology include Zoom, Docusign, Shopify and Coinbase.

Tinder adds facial verification in Singapore amid 7% user decline and legal pressure

Tinder has launched a facial verification feature in Singapore, requiring users to submit video selfies that are deleted after review while an encrypted face map is stored to verify photos and detect fraud. The rollout comes as Tinder faces declining engagement, with paying users down 7% in 2024 and millennials reducing daily dating app usage from 90 minutes in 2018 to 56 minutes in 2024. The company also faces legal pressure after six women sued Match Group in December 2025, alleging failure to remove a convicted rapist despite repeated reports. Singapore's Online Criminal Harms Act requires social media companies to implement facial recognition to combat impersonation scams. The country pioneered facial verification for its national digital ID system, SingPass, in 2020.

Tinder unveils rebrand with AI features to fix dating culture it helped create

Tinder has unveiled over a dozen new features as part of a rebrand under CEO Spencer Rascoff, aiming to shift focus from matches to meaningful connections. The world's most popular dating app has seen paying members drop 8% to 8.8 million in Q4 2025. Key features include Double Date, which pairs users with friends to swipe together, astrology-based matching, and Chemistry, an AI tool analysing camera rolls to understand interests. The company is also enhancing safety features like "Are You Sure?" for potentially harmful messages. The rebrand marks an attempt to revitalise a dating landscape many say Tinder helped ruin. Launched in 2012, the app popularised swipe-based dating but has struggled to innovate as users began treating digital courtship like a game. Rascoff stated the company's priorities have shifted: "Just getting matches is not the goal.
