About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in application security or a closely related security engineering role, with demonstrable ownership of application security programs or major initiatives.
  • Expert-level understanding of vulnerability classes, including OWASP Top 10, server-side request forgery, deserialization, request smuggling, OAuth/OpenID Connect flaws, and business logic abuse; understand root causes, exploitation chains, and realistic production impact.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Burp Suite and manual testing methodology; ability to identify vulnerabilities missed by scanners and chain low-severity issues into meaningful impact.
  • Comfort reading and auditing code in at least one of PHP, Python, Go, or JavaScript; ability to trace data flows across services and identify vulnerable patterns without runtime access.
  • Practical experience embedding security into development workflows, including security requirements, design review, continuous integration/continuous delivery security gates, and developer enablement.
  • Ability to calculate and defend severity, challenge inflated findings, and explain risk to engineers and leadership.
  • Methodical analytical reasoning and ability to explain why vulnerabilities exist, how they are exploited, and what remediation requires.
  • Ability to drive findings to resolution across team boundaries.
  • Strong written communication to document work clearly across handoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead triage of bug bounty reports and scanner findings; set severity standards, drive escalation policy, and ensure remediation service-level agreements are met across teams.
  • Plan and conduct in-depth security assessments and penetration tests of web applications, application programming interfaces, and services; define assessment scope and methodology.
  • Facilitate threat-modeling sessions with engineering teams, identify trust boundaries, data flows, and attack surfaces early in design, and embed threat modeling into the software development life cycle.
  • Select, operate, and tune static application security testing, dynamic application security testing, software composition analysis, and secrets-scanning tools; design noise-reduction and automated-triage workflows; integrate security gates into continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Perform security-focused code reviews across PHP, Python, and Go codebases; define secure-coding guidelines and review checklists for engineering teams.
  • Coach junior security specialists, run internal security training, and promote security awareness among developers.
  • Document findings, reproduction steps, and remediation guidance for engineering teams; set the team's documentation standard.

Desired Qualifications

  • Track record in bug bounty programs, including accepted reports on major platforms, or notable capture-the-flag results.
  • Strong automation skills, including Python or Go for building internal security tooling.
  • Experience securing cloud-native environments; Google Cloud Platform preferred, with Kubernetes security as a plus.
  • Advanced certifications such as OSWE, OSCP, BSCP, or GWAPT.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or other regulated environments; familiarity with PCI DSS.
  • CVE credits, public security research, or conference talks.
