About the company

Voyager Technologies uses a vertical integration approach to unify multiple space and defense firms, offering end-to-end space and defense capabilities. It operates in three segments—Defense & National Security, Space Solutions, and Starlab Space Stations—and earns much of its revenue from U.S. government contracts for missile defense, propulsion, and signals intelligence, while handling mission planning, payload integration, launch support, and on-orbit operations. Its flagship Starlab space station, developed with Airbus for a single-launch deployment on a SpaceX Starship, plus the Bishop Airlock and lunar initiatives from Astrobotic, illustrate its integrated space infrastructure. The company aims to grow the commercial space economy and extend human activity in space by providing a continuous private space platform in low Earth orbit for government and commercial users.

Helicity Space raises $5M seed funding for fusion propulsion technology

Helicity Space has raised $5 million in seed funding to develop its fusion-powered space propulsion technology. The round was led by Airbus Ventures, TRE Ventures, Voyager Space Holdings, E2MC Space, Urania Ventures, and Gaingels. The company's Helicity Drive technology uses plectonemic plasma jets, magnetic reconnection, and peristaltic magnetic compression to create scalable fusion propulsion engines. Founders Dr Setthivoine You, Marta Calvo, and Stephane Lintner bring expertise from plasma physics, chemical engineering, and finance. The technology aims to make space travel faster, safer, and more fuel-efficient. Dr You addressed concerns about the modest funding amount, explaining their scalable approach allows starting small with fewer plasma sources before expanding. The company is focusing on space propulsion first before pursuing terrestrial energy applications.

Voyager delivers quick disconnect plates for ESA's eco-friendly methane rocket

Voyager Technologies has delivered and integrated quick disconnect plates for the European Space Agency's In-Flight Demonstrator rocket. The company worked under contract to Avio, ESA's prime contractor for the PNRR-STS Programme, as part of Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Voyager designed, built and integrated a dual-interface quick disconnect system comprising a flight unit installed internally and a ground unit mounted externally. These components connect internal fuel systems to ground infrastructure and safely detach during launch operations. The IFD is a single-stage rocket equipped with a cryogenic liquid oxygen and methane engine. The project is funded by the European Union's NextGenerationEU programme and Italy's Complementary Fund. Matt Magaña, president of Space, Defense & National Security at Voyager, said the delivery demonstrates the company's ability to provide flight-ready systems efficiently.
