Responsibilities
  • Administer policies for a portfolio of commercial (re)insurance companies using a relevant software-as-a-service insurance platform, including reviewing and updating insurance policies and processing insurance claims.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including customers and agents associated with each company.
  • Process customer inquiries related to policies, coverage, and claims by providing detailed information and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with implementing efficient administrative procedures to streamline insurance operations and improve customer service.
  • Process accounts payable, manage cash online, and perform related bank functions.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual cash and investment accounting statements and reconciliations.
  • Onboard bank and investment accounts for new client engagements.
  • Liaise with financial institutions on payment queries and processes.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for client bank and investment accounts.
  • Perform other administrative tasks related to policy administration of the client portfolio as assigned by management.

SRS names former Allianz exec to alternative risk role. * by Claire Wilkinson Strategic Risk Solutions said Tuesday it has appointed former Allianz Commercial executive Chris Terry as managing director and head of alternative risk transfer and risk strategy, effective April 19, 2027. London-based Mr. Terry previously was global head of underwriting for alternative risk transfer at Allianz Commercial. He will work with Derek Bridgeman, managing director of European risk consulting, and SRS' European leadership team to develop its risk advisory business, according to an SRS statement. Mr. Terry will also oversee existing structured reinsurance advisory client relationships previously managed by Neil Campbell, a senior consultant at SRS, and provide expertise to SRS Titanium clients, the Concord, Massachusetts-based company said. SRS to host Captive Academy at SCCIA conference

SRS to host Captive Academy at SCCIA conference. Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) hosts its Captive Academy on 28 September as part of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association's 25th annual executive educational conference. The interactive seminar is designed for professionals new to the captive insurance industry, and for those looking to strengthen their understanding of captive solutions. It provides a practical overview of captive insurance fundamentals, captive formation, governance, regulatory considerations and ongoing management. The half-day programme explores the captive lifecycle, from initial feasibility and formation through to ongoing operations and strategic oversight. Participants gain insight into the roles played by captive managers, actuaries, legal counsel, regulators, auditors, tax advisers and investment professionals in supporting captive insurance companies. The session also features real-world perspectives and gives attendees the opportunity to engage directly with industry experts during an interactive question-and-answer discussion. Laura Rodrigo, managing director of SRS East and head of the captive manager's South Carolina office, leads the academy, alongside other SRS professionals and industry experts representing key captive service disciplines. Rodrigo says: "We are really excited to host new South Carolina captive owners and a list of prospective captive owners at the Academy this year. It is an honour to be kicking off the half-day session of the 25th annual SCCIA conference." Strategic Risk Solutions promotes to create account executive. Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has promoted Matthew Smith (pictured), a senior account manager since May 2017, to account executive, based in Tennessee. Before joining SRS, Smith was assistant vice-president and senior loan analyst for healthcare at Pacific Western Bank in Franklin, Tennessee. Before that, he spent almost six years at Crowe Horwath working with captives. Smith now manages a portfolio of captive insurance companies and risk retention groups, overseeing financial reporting, operations, compliance and corporate governance for each entity. His responsibilities include liaising with the State of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance on behalf of clients and the firm, alongside financial institutions, accountants, actuaries and other service providers. Strategic Risk Solutions promotes Arcangel to director. Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) promotes Michael Arcangel to director, based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. Arcangel moves up from consultant, a role he holds at SRS since 2023. As director, he runs feasibility studies, leads captive formations and redomestications, and supports captive underwriting and AM Best BCAR modelling. He works as an independent advisor helping companies assess whether a captive is appropriate for their business. Before joining SRS, Arcangel spends seven years at the North Carolina Department of Insurance, where he most recently serves as chief captive analyst, holding final financial oversight for more than 1,000 captive risk-bearing entities domiciled in the state. He joins the department in 2016 as a captive insurance financial analyst and progresses through senior and supervising analyst roles before becoming chief captive analyst in 2022. Prior to that he serves as an auditor at the North Carolina Department of Commerce. SRS is an independent insurance management firm with representation in onshore and offshore domiciles, providing financial reporting, regulatory compliance and underwriting management services to captive insurance companies.
