Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering, or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 10 years of experience, or a Master of Science, Master of Technology, or equivalent plus 8 years of experience in digital design, architecture, and application-specific integrated circuit or mixed-signal chip development.
  • Thorough understanding of the end-to-end digital design flow and the ability to collaborate with analog and digital technical staff on project development progress and status.
  • Solid understanding of register-transfer level design, clock-domain crossing, application-specific integrated circuit synthesis, timing analysis, place and route, Unified Power Format, and SystemVerilog assertions.
  • Solid understanding of Verilog, Tool Command Language, Perl, Python, and Extensible Markup Language.
  • Experience developing application-specific integrated circuit or mixed-signal integrated circuits for power converters, including multiphase converters, DC-DC power-management integrated circuits or point-of-load converters, AC-DC converters, and light-emitting diode drivers.
  • Good understanding of constant-on-time, peak and valley current or voltage mode control mechanisms, hysteretic control, multiphase controllers, and smart power stages.
  • Understanding of digital architecture trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
  • Good written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead digital design architecture, digital register-transfer level design, low-power design, synthesis and timing analysis, and behavioral coding teams for power-management chips.
  • Execute tool flows for intellectual-property quality control.
  • Collaborate with design architects, digital verification, project management, and digital and analog design teams across multiple worldwide geographies.
  • Drive architecture through micro-architecture to register-transfer level implementation while refining feature requirements throughout the design process.
  • Support system-level bring-up of features on pre-silicon platforms including system-on-chip validation, emulation, and field-programmable gate arrays.
  • Develop digital control peripherals and microcontroller systems.
  • Own the technical outcome of design, verification, implementation, and execution of power-management integrated circuits ranging from simple regulators to complex designs, control loops, and digital interfaces.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new systems, tools, processes, and technologies to improve design reuse, organizational processes, and decision-making.
  • Support post-silicon validation activities for the designs.
