Fitness Ventures turned a former movie theater into a $5 million, 40,000-square-foot gym in just a few months, moving Vancouver members into a bigger, upgraded club in the same plaza VANCOUVER, Wash., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Crunch Fitness has relocated Crunch Vancouver Plaza into an all-new, state-of-the-art Crunch 3.0 club at 7800 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. Operated by Fitness Ventures LLC, the largest Crunch Fitness franchisee in the U.S., the $5 million, 40,000-square-foot gym opened September 28 in the former AMC movie theater space right next door to the original club, giving Vancouver a bigger, upgraded Crunch in the same plaza members already know. Fitness Ventures completed the transformation in just a few months. The company announced the project in April, converted the former movie theater into a full Crunch 3.0 club over the summer and opened for workouts on September 28. The original club stayed open throughout construction, so members never had to miss a workout. Featuring the new Crunch 3.0 design, the club offers: * Hammer Strength and top-quality cardio and strength training equipment * Olympic lifting platforms and power half-hour circuit training * Functional HIITZone(TM) training area with indoor turf and advanced HIIT classes * Group fitness studio with Crunch's world-famous classes * Personal training * Relax & Recover(R) services including HydroMassage(R) and tanning * Kids Crunch babysitting * Full-service locker rooms with showers and saunas "We are excited to bring a bigger and better Crunch to Vancouver. Our members watched this club come to life right next door, and now it's finally here," said Brian Hibbard, CEO of Fitness Ventures LLC. "Crunch is for everyone, from the first-time gym-goer to the seasoned athlete, and with memberships starting at $9.99 per month, we have options to meet everyone's goals and budget." Fitness Ventures acquired the original Crunch Vancouver Plaza in 2025 as it expanded into the greater Portland area, and quickly reinvested in the club. The new Vancouver Plaza reflects the company's approach to growth: it doesn't just acquire locations, it reinvests in them and in the communities they serve. Cleveland real estate market update - October 8, 2026.

Cleveland real estate market update - October 8, 2026. Good morning, Cleveland. Here's a plain-English look at the real estate and development news moving around Greater Cleveland and Cuyahoga County this week. From a bold idea for its lakefront to a historic factory getting a second life, there's a lot happening close to home. Today's Cleveland headlines. | Story | Where | What Happened | | A big idea for the lakefront | Downtown waterfront | A group of local advocates pitched a towering "Lighthouse of the Great Lakes" - an observation deck, restaurant, and museum - for the downtown lakefront. It's just an idea for now, and the city is waiting on designers MVRDV to share an updated plan for the whole waterfront in the coming weeks. | | New zoning near Shaker Square | Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood | The city rolled out the first phase of a new "form-based" zoning code meant to make it simpler and faster to build homes and shops that fit the character of the neighborhood. A community meeting is set for October 13. | | A gym fills a big empty store | West Park (Lorain Ave. & W. 150th) | Crunch Fitness is moving into the former Big Lots space at West Park Shopping Center - its first Cleveland location - with about $975,000 in interior work planned. | | A historic factory is saved | Cudell (Berea Road) | A developer bought the 7.3-acre former Winton Motor Carriage Works for $300,000, pulling the century-old brick buildings off the demolition list with plans to reuse the site in stages. | | A suburban mall plan stalls | Cleveland Heights (Severance) | Neighborhood advocates say the long-planned makeover of Severance Town Center has gone quiet, with the city awaiting a consultant's report before deciding its next steps. | | Home prices keep climbing - gently | Greater Cleveland | The area's median sale price reached about $279,000 in the latest figures, up roughly 4% from a year earlier, while still sitting well below the national median of around $400,000. | What it means for you. If you're buying: Prices are still rising, but much more slowly than the double-digit jumps of a couple years ago - so there's less pressure to rush. Cleveland also remains far more affordable than most big cities, which keeps the door open for first-time buyers. Take your time and shop for the right fit. If you're selling: Well-kept homes continue to draw steady interest, especially in neighborhoods seeing fresh investment like new shops or redevelopment nearby. Pricing it right still matters most - homes here are generally selling close to asking, not far above it, so a realistic number helps you sell faster. If you're investing: Keep an eye on zoning updates like the one near Shaker Square, since rules that make building easier can lift the value of nearby land over time. Wins like a saved historic factory and a new gym anchoring a shopping center are also encouraging signs of neighborhoods growing steadier and more active. That's your local roundup for today - here's to a Cleveland that keeps building. Want first access to off-market deals? The best Cleveland deals never hit the MLS. Huge Crunch Fitness center in the works for Sterling.

Huge Crunch Fitness center in the works for Sterling. Crunch Fitness - a national chain of gyms/fitness centers - is getting ready to open a new location in Sterling. It's headed to the Sugarland Crossing shopping center off Route 7. That's the same center with the Burlington department store. It appears that Crunch will be taking over the roughly 34,000 s.f. space left vacant when Painted Tree Boutiques closed suddenly back in April. Crunch Fitness was founded in 1989 and currently has more than 500 locations across the U.S. and overseas. Crunch is just the latest tenant coming to Sugarland Crossing.
