Neon Health (Tensor/Belay Inc.) provides an AI-powered automation platform that targets high-volume healthcare admin workflows, especially phone-based tasks for specialty pharma and providers. It automates benefits verification, prior authorizations, financial assistance enrollment, patient onboarding, and adherence support, using modular AI with voice automation and rules engines. It differentiates itself by focusing on patient-access chokepoints with highly customizable workflows and a fast, consultative deployment model that has led to seven-figure deals and profitability. Its goal is to cut administrative work for nurses and staff and speed up patients’ access to medications, letting clinicians focus on care.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Neon raised $6 million on 2025-09-02, led by NFX with strategic healthcare investors.
  • Its website claimed 70% labor-cost reduction and fully automated payer-facing workflows in 2026.
  • Specialty-medication access remains painful, giving Neon clear ROI for pharma manufacturers now.

What critics are saying

  • Healthcare automation rivals from Epic, Waystar, and Commure compress pricing and steal workflows.
  • A single failed prior-authorization call can trigger compliance reviews and immediate enterprise churn.
  • If Neon misses HIPAA or payer rules, pharma contracts evaporate before expansion beyond pharma.

What makes Neon Health unique

  • Neon automates specialty-drug access workflows with AI phone agents, not generic chatbots.
  • It bundles benefit verification, prior authorization, copay enrollment, and adherence into one pipeline.
  • By February 2026, Neon said it worked with about six pharmaceutical brands.
