About the job

Requirements
  • Three to five years of public relations experience, ideally with consumer brands and/or business-to-business or technology clients.
  • Demonstrated success securing media coverage across business, consumer, technology, and/or trade press, with active media relationships across traditional and new media such as Substack, podcasts, and YouTube.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging for different media verticals, audiences, and contexts.
  • A collaborative mindset, continuous-learning orientation, and genuine interest in mentoring junior team members.
  • A proactive, persistent, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approach, with the ability to stay organized and adapt quickly in a fast-paced media landscape to deliver on client key performance indicators.
  • Ability to balance media execution with strategic input and client communication.
Responsibilities
  • Lead proactive media outreach across multiple accounts and secure high-quality coverage across traditional and new media.
  • Own and deepen media relationships through regular contact and outreach to key journalists and outlets.
  • Vet inbound media requests and staff interviews and briefings as needed.
  • Contribute to client strategy by generating pitch angles, identifying media opportunities, and aligning messaging with trends and cultural moments.
  • Contribute during weekly client calls by providing outreach updates and suggesting pivot strategies.
  • Work with junior team members to advance speaking programs and awards, assess opportunities, provide recommendations, and draft submissions.
  • Draft and edit pitches, press releases, briefing documents, and messaging frameworks.
  • Oversee and maintain master media lists and ensure consistent outreach to target outlets.
  • Mentor and support junior team members on media outreach, writing, and company best practices.
  • Review internal documents including media lists, agendas, and action items.
  • Collaborate with media relations, partnerships, affiliate, and influencer teams to support integrated storytelling.
  • Participate in internal knowledge sharing and media trend spotting.

  • Experience working on multiple accounts and industries simultaneously.
  • Experience with thought leadership programs, including conferences, awards, contributed content, and op-eds.
  • Experience with affiliate marketing and/or influencer work.
