About the job

Requirements
  • The candidate must have 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • The candidate must have a demonstrated track record of filling highly technical engineering or deep-tech roles across robotics, mechatronics, embedded systems, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and related disciplines.
  • The candidate must have expert-level sourcing skills, including Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, academic networks, artificial intelligence sourcing tools, and alternative channels beyond job boards.
  • The candidate must have strong hiring-manager partnership skills, including conducting effective intake meetings, translating ambiguous requirements into focused searches, and keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • The candidate must be able to engage and close passive candidates through compelling outreach, strong follow-through, and eliciting responses from individuals who are not actively looking.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously without sacrificing quality or velocity on any search.
  • The candidate must be confident handling offer conversations, managing counteroffers, and ensuring candidates progress through to their start date without issues.
  • The candidate must have a proven track record of closing out-of-market candidates on relocation by overcoming hesitation, persuasively promoting Houston as a career and lifestyle destination, and supporting candidates’ emotional journey; relocation logistics are handled by a dedicated partner.
Responsibilities
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for a portfolio of technical positions such as machine learning, autonomy, teleoperations, reinforcement learning, grasping, manipulation, perception, and robotics software, from kickoff through signed offer and start date.
  • Run intake meetings to define role requirements, negotiable criteria, strong candidate profiles, and first-year success measures.
  • Build and execute a custom sourcing strategy for every search using Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, research labs and academic networks, conference and publication mining, competitor mapping, and artificial intelligence sourcing tools.
  • Write outreach and follow through persistently to turn cold contacts into conversations with passive candidates.
  • Screen candidates for technical depth, motivation, and mission fit before presenting them to hiring managers.
  • Drive interview loops end to end, including scheduling with coordination support, preparing candidates, collecting debrief feedback, and maintaining momentum.
  • Manage offers and closes, including compensation and equity conversations, counteroffer strategy, and candidate engagement between signature and the first day.
  • Recruit out-of-market candidates by promoting Houston and moving hesitant candidates toward relocation commitment, with logistics handled by a dedicated partner.
  • Maintain clean applicant tracking system records and report pipeline health, funnel metrics, and search progress to the Head of Talent and hiring managers.
  • Represent Persona AI in the market as a credible ambassador for the company, its technology, and its team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior recruiting experience in robotics, aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or deep-tech hardware.
  • Existing relationships within the Houston engineering, aerospace, or technology talent community.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as Ashby, Rippling, Greenhouse, Lever, or similar platforms.
  • Experience recruiting for organizations with 50–300 employees in a high-growth environment.
  • A background recruiting for hardware or deep-tech companies where candidates are rare and each requisition requires a custom sourcing strategy.

About the company

Persona AI develops humanoid robots and a labor platform to perform physically demanding tasks in industries like shipbuilding, construction, and energy infrastructure. These robots work alongside human employees to handle specialized jobs such as welding, allowing industrial sites to maintain continuous, 24/7 operations. Unlike many competitors, the company uses a "Constructor Program" that allows governments and large corporations to help co-architect the robots to meet their specific operational needs. The company's goal is to solve global labor shortages by providing a scalable robotic workforce for the world's most difficult industrial environments.

What believers are saying

  • POSCO signed a February 2026 MOU and began steel-coil trials that month.
  • Brian Davis joined in March 2026 after Amazon Robotics and Dell scaling roles.
  • A September 2026 report said Persona AI planned third-generation robots this fall.

What critics are saying

  • Persona AI remains pre-production; HD Hyundai deployment starts in 2027.
  • The company sold $65.36 million toward a $141.96 million 2026 offering.
  • If field trials fail, Persona AI becomes a demo company, not a manufacturer.

What makes Persona AI unique

  • Nic Radford and Jerry Pratt bring NASA and Figure-level robotics expertise.
  • Persona AI targets shipyards, steel mills, and energy sites, not consumer robots.
  • Its Constructor Program co-designs robots with governments and industrial giants like HD Hyundai.

Persona AI hires ex-Amazon Robotics exec to scale humanoid robot manufacturing

Persona AI, a Houston-based humanoid robotics company, has appointed Brian Davis as Head of Global Manufacturing to scale commercial production for industrial applications. Davis brings over 30 years of operations experience, including roles at Amazon Robotics and Dell Technologies, where he oversaw 25-fold increases in manufacturing volumes within four years. The appointment comes as Persona prepares to fulfil growing demand following agreements with HD Hyundai and POSCO Group for deployment in shipyards and steel manufacturing, plus a pilot programme with Louisiana. Founded in 2024, Persona AI develops humanoid robots for high-risk industrial tasks including welding, fabrication and heavy maintenance. Davis will oversee manufacturing infrastructure, supply chain management and quality control as the company transitions from prototype to volume production.
