- An associate’s degree in a healthcare field such as paramedic, medic, emergency medical technician, emergency technician, licensed nursing assistant or certified nursing assistant, or hospital technician.

- Boot up and shut down simulators, and prepare and break down task trainers, simulation rooms, and other equipment and props for simulation or skills-lab sessions.
- Operate computers and technical simulation equipment for simulation scenarios, including virtual-reality software and equipment.
- Control simulator software to model the simulator’s physiological response according to instructor or scenario specifications.
- Operate and maintain audiovisual and debriefing systems during simulations.
- Reset rooms between sessions by restocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of simulation and laboratory equipment and operation manuals.
- Clean equipment as needed, including manikins and task trainers.
- Assist in developing and demonstrating instructional best practices for using manikins and equipment to improve simulation experiences for students and faculty.
- Provide technical support for task trainers and multimedia peripherals, including vital-sign monitors, intravenous pumps, feeding pumps, beds and examination tables, headwalls, patient monitors, and other healthcare equipment.
- Provide theatrical production, including costuming and moulage, for simulation scenarios as requested.
- Provide technical assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff using simulation and skills-laboratory equipment and software.
- Enforce the safety and security of simulation and skills laboratories according to established procedures, policies, and laws.
- Maintain simulation and skills laboratories and other assigned areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One to two years of simulation experience in an academic institution or equivalent setting.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist certification.
