Requirements
  • Applicants must be between 17 and 24 years old throughout the internship.
  • Applicants must live within the City of Seattle limits or currently be at risk of or experiencing homelessness within the City of Seattle limits.
  • Applicants must adhere to abuse prevention policies, maintain appropriate boundaries, complete required training, report suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and comply with mandated reporting requirements.
  • A background check is required as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants must be able to effectively perform the position using applicable education, training, and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly skill-building workshops and job-readiness activities, including developing or enhancing a personal brand, resumes, cover letters, interview skills, and networking skills.
  • Work at an assigned worksite to develop employability skills and apply learning from the program.
  • Adhere to abuse prevention policies, maintain appropriate boundaries, complete required training, report suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and comply with mandated reporting requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations, including differences in language, culture, race, physical ability, and sexual orientation.
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
