  • Candidates should be able to build lightweight tools or prototypes using some combination of Python, JavaScript, SQL, spreadsheets, application programming interfaces, no-code tools, AI coding tools, product prototyping tools, and data platforms.
  • Candidates must be able to build models, interrogate assumptions, analyze funnels, understand unit economics, and explain key findings.
  • Candidates should have strong go-to-market instincts involving patient growth, revenue, conversion, retention, activation, reactivation, customer acquisition cost, payback, funnel drop-off, and the mechanics of improving business metrics.
  • Candidates must be able to write clear and useful memos, investor updates, recruiting notes, project specifications, growth analyses, operating plans, and executive summaries.
  • Candidates must exercise sound judgment when working with founders, operators, clinicians, engineers, lawyers, candidates, investors, and vendors.
  • Candidates must be comfortable handling sensitive patient, company, legal, financial, recruiting, investor, and operational information with maturity and discretion.
  • Candidates must operate with high agency and limited structure, identifying opportunities and creating projects without waiting for complete direction.
  • Candidates must be willing to work closely with leadership in an intense, high-speed, in-person environment.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with founders and leadership on high-priority projects across go-to-market, growth, revenue, business operations, regulatory matters, finance, hiring, culture, legal, investor relations, product, and internal systems.
  • Drive go-to-market and revenue projects involving new patient acquisition, conversion, retention, reactivation, referrals, lifecycle, pricing, patient experience, and funnel optimization.
  • Build AI-native tools, workflows, dashboards, scripts, agents, prototypes, and automations that help teams operate faster and better.
  • Rapidly prototype solutions for non-technical teams so they can clarify their needs before full engineering resources are used.
  • Identify company bottlenecks, diagnose root causes, and build fast solutions such as models, dashboards, workflows, memos, trackers, experiments, or internal products.
  • Use Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Replit, v0, Lovable, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, application programming interfaces, scripts, and no-code tools to accelerate work.
  • Build internal systems for leadership, including synthetic advisory boards, investor update workflows, meeting-preparation agents, board-material review systems, recruiting trackers, finance dashboards, go-to-market dashboards, and executive decision-support tools.
  • Support strategic finance work including revenue models, customer acquisition cost/payback analysis, hiring plans, budget scenarios, growth forecasts, investor updates, board materials, and operating reviews.
  • Help build talent systems including sourcing systems, role scorecards, interview loops, candidate evaluation processes, onboarding systems, culture rituals, and performance operating rhythms.
  • Partner with growth, product, data, clinical operations, and leadership to analyze the patient journey from intake through booking, first visit, follow-up, renewals, retention, churn, and reactivation.
  • Support legal, compliance, regulatory, and finance workflows involving healthcare, HIPAA, contracts, vendors, employment, patient communication, and AI sandboxes.
  • Write memos, project plans, launch documents, investor materials, candidate materials, process documents, and internal updates.
  • Improve patient acquisition, conversion, retention, reactivation, referrals, lifecycle, pricing, and patient experience to support revenue growth.
  • Build AI-native systems that are adopted by the team and save time or improve quality.
  • Help non-technical teams specify their needs from product and engineering.
  • Turn leadership ideas into working systems and improve senior-leader effectiveness.
Desired Qualifications
  • Early experience in consulting, banking, finance, startups, product, data, or engineering is desirable.
  • A computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, financial engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, or similarly rigorous degree is strongly preferred.

What believers are saying

  • Legion raised $16 million in July 2026 toward a $25 million private placement.
  • The May 2026 pilot targets 67-day psychiatry waits and medication-adherence dropoffs.
  • Patients can get refill decisions in minutes, cutting administrative friction for clinicians.

What critics are saying

  • Utah’s 12-month sandbox ends in 2027; one adverse case can halt expansion.
  • No federal approval exists; CMS, DEA, or state boards can block nationwide rollout.
  • If AI refill errors trigger malpractice claims, Legion’s narrow psychiatry niche becomes existentially exposed.

What makes Legion Health unique

  • Utah approved Legion Health’s March 19, 2026 AI refill pilot for 15 psychiatric drugs.
  • Its workflow combines licensed psychiatrists, identity checks, pharmacy data, and monthly OAIP reporting.
  • Y Combinator and Utah’s sandbox back a full-stack model from intake to renewals.

AI bot refills antidepressants for $20/month, cutting 67-day psychiatry wait times in Utah pilot

Legion Health, a Utah-based telepsychiatry company, has launched a $20-per-month AI tool for mental health prescription renewals, addressing median wait times of 67 days for psychiatry appointments. The service handles refills for stable patients on maintenance medications like SSRIs and Wellbutrin but does not diagnose, prescribe new medications or adjust doses. The AI conducts safety checks for side effects, drug interactions and warning signs before approving refills. Cases flagged as concerning are routed to human clinicians, who can be requested at any time. The rollout requires doctor approval for the first 250 prescriptions, with subsequent review systems in place. Founded in 2021, Legion Health cites provider shortages and high costs as key drivers, noting 40% to 50% of patients don't consistently take psychiatric medications as prescribed.
