Builds payment software for internet businesses
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
The Internationalisation team builds the platform that helps Stripe products work naturally across languages and markets. We create and operate the infrastructure that enables Stripe teams to localize product interfaces, services, and written communications while delivering consistent, high-quality experiences to users around the world.
We work closely with our sister Localization team and its language experts, as well as with product and service engineering teams integrating localized content. Together, we combine engineering, automation, and linguistic expertise to help Stripe build products that feel native to each market.
You will design, implement, and maintain Stripe’s internationalisation platform at scale, including the developer and user experiences around it. You’ll help teams continuously localize their products while improving the quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency of Stripe’s localization processes.
This role combines backend and platform engineering with emerging LLM technology. Depending on the project, you may build end-to-end functionality for internal customers, evolve production LLM systems, develop quality-evaluation capabilities, improve platform reliability and observability, or lead migrations from legacy localization infrastructure.
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Stripe builds payment software that businesses of all sizes plug into their websites and apps to accept money online and in person. After its public launch in 2011, it won over internet startups by letting developers start taking payments with a few lines of code. Businesses use it to take cards and digital wallets, block fraud, bill subscriptions, and pay out sellers on online marketplaces, while Stripe earns a fee on each payment plus charges for add-on tools. Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison founded Stripe in 2010, and it is based in South San Francisco, California, and Dublin, Ireland. In 2016, John Collison, then 26, became the world's youngest self-made billionaire.
