Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in a health-related discipline such as Nursing or Pharmacy, Computer Science, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Science, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in information systems are required, with preference for candidates from a patient care environment.
  • Candidates must complete certification on an Epic application specified by management within six months of training.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain and assist in managing project work plans.
  • Candidates must demonstrate interpersonal skills in a service-oriented environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
  • Additional relevant experience or clinical expertise may be substituted for information systems experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis, design, and support of hospital systems, including testing, training, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • Document, communicate, and assist in problem determination and resolution.
  • Update and maintain detailed project plans.
  • Interact with end users, vendors, and related areas to gather requirements and compile data.
  • Assist in the installation of software and hardware systems and coordinate with other HST/IS&T departments on system planning and implementation to ensure standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for training manuals, build documents, decision documents, and other assigned project materials.
  • Assist in developing and delivering effective training for the user community to increase proper system usage.
  • Perform technical resource planning and support and recommend project team organization for successful implementation.
  • Work with the user community to deliver satisfactory project-level service.
  • Provide input to departmental policies and procedures and adhere to policies and procedures for implementing and supporting hospital systems.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior Epic experience is highly desirable.
  • Direct experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
