Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility is required.
  • Strong technical proficiency with data acquisition tools such as LabVIEW is required.
  • Experience with 3D computer-aided design modeling software is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level clearance are required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation, execution, and analysis of high-speed aerodynamic test campaigns used to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.
  • Work closely with design and analysis teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into detailed test procedures.
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of wind tunnel facility hardware.
  • Assemble and instrument complex sub-scale models using strain-gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors.
  • Develop automated routines for data acquisition.
  • Monitor real-time data quality during wind tunnel operations.
  • Perform reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets.
  • Document aerodynamic coefficients used to validate computational fluid dynamics models.
