About the Job

Requirements

  • Experience managing operations for Internet of Things device fleets or distributed physical IT infrastructure.
  • Experience working with field service or installation partner networks at scale.
  • Experience managing hardware fleets in retail, digital out-of-home, or connected-device environments.
  • Exposure to firmware lifecycle management and structured release processes.
  • Experience serving large enterprise customers as a technology vendor, including understanding enterprise-scale deployments, multi-stakeholder environments, and customer-facing operational accountability.
  • Experience defining and owning operational key performance indicators in a customer-facing technology environment.
  • Familiarity with remote device management or mobile device management platforms such as Balena, Mender, or AWS IoT Greengrass, or comparable tools, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, or Zabbix, or comparable tools, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with field service coordination and ticketing tools such as Jira or ServiceNow, or comparable tools, is advantageous.
  • Ability to diagnose hardware and connectivity issues without routing every issue through engineering.
  • Ability to coordinate dependencies across engineering, commercial, and field teams without direct authority.
  • Comfort operating across time zones, cultures, and regulatory environments.
  • Experience using ClickUp, shared calendars, and AI collaboration tools in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain real-time monitoring of device health, connectivity, and data output quality across the global fleet.
  • Detect and triage outages, communication gaps, and anomalies across all regions.
  • Own the fleet uptime key performance indicator.
  • Report uptime performance internally and to customers.
  • Continuously refine monitoring tools and observability infrastructure; define improved device health metrics with engineering; and drive development of fleet-level dashboards and alerting systems at store, region, and network levels.
  • Monitor whether devices are producing reliable, accurate data, not only whether they are online.
  • Serve as the first line of detection for data quality issues, including incorrect sensor angles, miscalibrations, and corrupted audience counts.
  • Escalate analytically complex data quality issues to the Senior Data Scientist for deeper investigation.
  • Distinguish hardware-driven data failures from software- or model-level issues.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting with local integrators globally when devices fail or underperform.
  • Manage device replacements, repairs, and returns, including logistics, shipping, and customs where required.
  • Escalate systemic or recurring failures to engineering with structured root-cause documentation.
  • Provide CUS Managers with technical context during customer-facing escalations when required.
  • Own the global firmware update process, from scheduling and communication through completion tracking and audit.
  • Coordinate update readiness with engineering and obtain per-customer sign-off from Customer Success and Account Management before any update reaches a live environment.
  • Ensure no update is deployed to a customer's fleet without appropriate approvals, particularly during active campaign periods.
  • Maintain a clear audit trail of firmware versions deployed across all sites and regions.
  • Design and own a formal site acceptance process for the structured handover from the Delivery Director after physical installation is complete.
  • Define technical entry criteria for the live fleet, including sensor calibration, connectivity validation, data output verification, and zone configuration.
  • Own sign-off bringing a new site live and ensure it is production-ready from day one.
  • Serve as the primary operational interface for the global network of local installation and field service integrators.
  • Define and enforce operational standards, response-time expectations, and quality requirements across the integrator network.
  • Coordinate integrator activity for incident response, replacements, and new-site readiness.
  • Coordinate with procurement on replacement logistics and fleet availability.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong operational process-building skills, including designing structure where none exists and enforcing it consistently.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across teams.
  • A hands-on approach to resolving operational problems and removing obstacles.
